Earth hour, AKA "Burglary hour".

FFS, when will people stop meddling in our everyday lives and get on with their own?

Shome mishtake shirley?

At night it gets dark and cold, so we need to switch lights on and make a hot drink.

That website must be faulty.

Didn't the lecky companies advise against doing this, as it does something stupid to the power supply, something like the supply chain can't cope with near zero demand, and it could be dangerous to the circuits? (or did I imagine that last time someone mentioned this?)

Not to worry - I'll be doing my bit to ensure demand stays above zero. smile

I don't see the point in this, what are they trying to achieve? Other than to create a headache for the poor sods working at powerstations tonight.

Just checking all the (20 or so) sodium lights in the back garden, replacing the 100w bulbs in the fence lights with 150w jobs.

It'll be like the centre of the sun here

I suspect that many streets will have plenty of houses with a luminous glow coming from the windows.
