Some people do treasure their weapons.
I was in Tyumen, Siberia 4 years ago and we were invited to go round an ice hockey organisers house. First we went through 4 iron gates on the 4th floor of the flat (who's he trying to keep out I thought) then when in and eating he decided to talk of his life experiences, including going to prison, playing ice hockey for some professional team and then how much his gold teeth cost.
At this stage (feeling quite nervous) he decides to go and get something and then wanders in toting an AK47. From which he said that he uses for hunting all the time and that once they fed a very friendly bear continuosly outside their Dacha, to which in the end they shot and ate it!
Very friendly he and his family were but they were especially people you would not like as enemies.
