Just following on from the Red Square Re-Loaded theme music thread.......

i quite like the Psychadelic Space/Sci-fi rock type of thing.......can anyone recommend a good 'Hawkwind' all-rounder preferably of early to mid-seventies vintage

Cheers

The classic album forum at stonerrock.com is worth a look. Full of suggestions for 70s heavy/space rock stuff.

Ode to my BMW........

I just took a ride in a Silver Machine
And I'm still feeling mean

Do you want to ride
See yourself going by
Other side of the sky
Well I got a silver machine

I've got a Silver Machine...

It flies
Sideways through time
It's an electric line
To your Zodiac sign

It flies out of a dream
It's antiseptically clean
You're gonna know where I've been

I've got a Silver Machine...

No such thing as old music, just classic stuff that was released before you happened to be born

i'm finding myself more and more drawn to the stuff i used to hear when i was a nipper........

It's gotta be better than Dizzee Rascal,Michelle McManus (WHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOO????) and Balzin Squad etc etc

Listening to Led Zepp lately along with 'modern' stuff like the Polyphonic Spree

If i can get 'em tommorow
will get...

1)'Space Ritual' and or 'In Search of Space'- Hawkwind
2)Live at Leeds (whole concert) by The Who
(Who's Next is one of my fave alltime albums along with Radiohead's The Bends )

Yes Pete been eyeing that up too on the Hawkwind official site......Stonerrock.com forums pretty much reckon the first five albums are 'must haves'......Argent 'Hold your Head up' just holds so many good memories of my childhood so it's gotta end up in my collection soon.......

Hold Your Head Up
(Argent/White)

And if it's bad
Don't let it get you down - you couldn't take it
And if it hurts
Don't let them see you cry - you couldn't make it

Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing that you're doing

Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high

Hold your head up, hold your head up, hold your head up ....

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing that you're doing

Hold your head up, oh ....

Stick that on pop idol Cowell and co.....volume 10
