I'm quite new to this compoota internetickery.

I've noticed the frequent use of abbreviations. Now I've worked out quite a few: WTF was the first

I presume BTW is by the way. I'm sure BIB is boys in blue.

But WTF is LOL? What others are in frequent use?

Anybody else got any questions they are itching to ask, but want to be too grown up?

Does anyone get irritated by folk who use written abbreviations in normal speech?

"The car looked good, ie, fantastic! I thought to myself, A, can I afford it, B, will the wife allow me to buy it, and C, can I blag it. Time to check the old LSD back at HQ."

What happened to conjunctions such as "and," or "but," et cetera?

What's that L.A?

Ah, a signature is a different thing. Had a guy on Monday doing those raised two fingered quotations marks gesture around everything he was saying. I guess that takes spoken abbreviations to mime.
I find that turning deadly serious for a split second, looking them hard in the eyes and stating that "If you do that again I will hit you" works wonders with those types.
