They've lobbed a few missiles over Japan.

They do have an ICBM (in theory) called the taep'o-dong2:

Theory suggests that it can hit Alaska or the west coast of the States. 3500km-4300km range.

Sweet dreams.

I feel safe knowing that the UN and the IAEA are on top of this

Of course recent posturing by highly intellectual individuals talking about an 'Axis of Evil' has contributed massively to global stability.

what i dont get is why didnt the USA go into this hell hole years ago and kick their arese before they got the bomb instead of wasting time in the gulf. but maybe the answer to that is just too obvious.

Whether or not theres one madman with nukes on the world or 50 madmen in the world with nukes doesnt matter. we are still going to wind up dead if one of them pushes the button.

To be honest this has been worrying me for a while. I have more comfort over North Korea not using them if left alone than GWB not going off on ine and getting us all into a bit of a pickle.

Well, it was tried about 50 years ago - look
up "Korean War" on Google. Frankly, this is a
problem that will end up being solved by the
Chinese rather than the USA - although they were
the ones propping up the NKs in the fifties,
certainly isn't the case now - they have no interest
in an unhinged regime with nukes on their doorstep,
very bad for business.

North Korea admits it has nuclear bombs.

America is a bully and everyone knows bullies only pick on scrawny kids. They will leave them well alone and continue their depraved nonsense in Iran/Syria.

It could get very, very interesting, but won't.

Could be a great ploy! “Yeah…uh…we have nuclear weapons”. It’s like telling the bully in school that you have a big sister when in fact you don’t just so he will leave you alone.

In fact in some ways it’s irrelevant if they do or don’t, its what people think that matters.

I think the thing that is really difficult for most westerners to take on board, is that most North Koreans really believe the west is bad.

This isn't one of those situations where they're all listening to western radio, and wishing that they too could dance the night away.

They all really believe that they are the last line of defence for any kind of sanity. I don't know, they might be right. I'd rather be on this side of the fence though!
