Anybody Know Much About Owls?
Discussion
I've got an owl that lives in the eaves of my house.....
He's quite big, about 18" long excluding tail, and pale.
Now, he's not there in daylight, but usually there from about 22.00. I thought owls were generally nocturnal? Does this mean he sleeps somewhere else in daylight, and uses my roof as a vantage point for night time sorties?
He also does loads of poo. There's masses of really white liquid stuff, and a fair bit of big brown stuff. Can owls do two different sorts of poo, or is there more than one bird?
or does it just depend on what he's noshed the night before?

Big brown stuff are pellets, regurgitated bits of animals they cant digest (skin/ bone etc) , you can soak them and take them apart and see what its been eating...
Sounds like a barn owl too.It'll be eating mice and voles n such.

unless they're real ones, and not in the 'Harry Potter films'
I spo'se
I went to a place near Hay-on-wye that has Owls, kids animal farm thing.
They had a siplay of several owls you could touch/stroke if they wanted to be.
Had a large (2ft) owl of some description chucking away to me with its head tucked into my coat loving all the attention, wierd..

Billy the security guy at TVR has licences to keep Birds of Prey.
I can ask him, if you want, who you can contact to remove the owl.
Claire
Don't want to remove it...I really like the thought. I was just curious about its nocturnal habits, multiflavoured poo & what type it was.
But thanks anyway!

My advice to you is this;
Fabricate a sea going vessel, possibly from marine ply, and material for sails.
furnish yourself with feline, pop cat and owl in boat and launch off Brighton beach
thus;
hope this helps ha.
oh try lute its an option to think about
