Agree with that aside from the silly clock. Watching Mungo trying to pull was more interesting than that.
The bridge is pleasant enough, the castle is very impressive, especially if you go when its dark.
I assume its a coupley weekend and not a "lads tour"? Strip joints seem mainly mafia run and no cameras, and no guns. ok then...
rather amusingly, we got approached by a huge number of touts to come into the lapdancing clubs promising "pussy, t1ts etc", but the best was when a random one approached us and in a heavy czech accent asked us if we wanted to come in and see "pishflaps...." nice.
The good thing about the clock Schnozz is if you hit it at midday, do it once, it takes 5 minutes and then you're done. It is an amazing piece of horological engineering when you consider it was biult in the 15th Century.
The castle and all the guff with it could take you a week if you did it porperly. My wife and I went about 12 years ago (we got engaged there! Ahhhhh!) and I was staggered by the art gallery full of masterpeices with no security wotsoever. I know it has changed since then. There were no gangs of drunken British stag nighters puking and pissing in Wenceslas Square, and (regrettably!) the porn industry was either non existent or not very visible.
Quite fancy the idea of Talin. Apparently that is meant to be bootiful.

Stay out of the restaurants in the centre, they're just overpriced tourist traps. Best result is to just wander around until you see somewhere that looks interesting. 9 times out of 10 in Prague the food will be better than the big restaurants in the centre.
Loads of good hotels to stay in, go 5 star though, it's so cheap for accomodation that's you'd be silly not to.
Some good ones, Hotel four seasons, Iron Gate, golden gate, alchymist. I've stayed in all these and they were good, quite different styles though so try and check out some websites.

We stayed in the Andels Hotel www.andelshotel.com/content/en/1.php
It's very modern and away from the main touristy areas, being in the Andels district, just round the corner from the Satropramen (sp) factory and only a 5 minute tram ride to the centre of town.

Just got back from a long weekend in Prague for my wife's 30th. We stayed in the Four Seasons, which is about 30 seconds walk from Charles Bridge. Lovely Hotel and very central.
Cheers
Michael
I have a feeling that where we stayed - just the other side of the charles bridge from the centre and down to the right?
Good hotel without paying Four Seasons prices: The Riverside
You must, must, must visit U Cerneho Vola up by the castle (Loretanske namesti 1). It is an utterly fabulous, small old pub stuffed with locals and with, even for Prague, wondrous beer. It is run by the Friends of Beer Party.
