We've had the revelation that what everybody has known for years, that the Lib Dems were lead by a piss artist, was true. This was followed by the revelation that a favourite to succeed him, and the partys Home Affairs spokesman, "family man" Mark Oaten was a frequenter of rent boys. Now we learn that another favourite, sanctimonious bore Simon Hughes, is also a traveller on the Hershey highway.

What next? Are we to learn that Jeremy Thorpe was innocent all along and Sir Menzies campbell is a closet transvetite?

Are there any normal people in the Lib Dems?

Nag, buggered if I'm doing that.

It was hardly a surprise about Simon Hughes being a frequenter of Cadbury Alley. You only needed to look at him.

It's a picture you can never tire of seeing.

My thanks again MrsF. You don't know how much joy it's brought.

So in answer to your question, even if I had, I wouldn't admit to it

I'm sure you're right, and that would really make me want to vote for a party led by the backstabbing b'stard.

Do you have a problem with gay men being in politics? I couldn't care less what their inclination is provided they do a good job. Why do they have to be "normal"? - your words.

I certainly don't, but Simon Hughes clearly does, given that he has denied being gay twice this week.

Is there something you want to share with us?

I have no problem with Hughes being gay. I do have a problem with him seeking to conceal it and in fact repeatedly denying it. (We call it lying )

The funny thing is that I missed the Hughes "denials" this week but in any case thought that he was out of the closet anyway! I just thought it had been public knowledge for years.

In any case, I'm not bothered. Does my face look bothered?

I'd always assumed he was asexual. He's so boring it's difficult to imagine him having sex with anyone.

Perhaps he made up the story about being gay to make himself look more interesting?

It would seem to me that the reason so many gay politicians are frightened to admit their sexuality (not that it is anyones business but their own) is exactly becuase of the homophobic attitudes of people such as are being displayed on here.

Politicians should not be asked these kinds of questions. They are of a fundamental and personal nature and totally irrelevant. Should anyone be excluded from a job on the grounds of which gender they sleep with? Absolutely not in my opinion.

Well I will admit to voting Lib Dem in the last election. Mainly because I consider my current MP to be a criminal and I feel that I should not disenfranchise myself. I doubt if I will vote next time though as I really don't agree with any of the parties on anything.

You are a brave man. There are some on here who would have you whipped through the streets and then flayed alive for that.
