Coming home tonight, I thought I would try a new hitch hiking symbol - thumb, + index + little finger..........

Over 30 cars went past me. I was doubting the power of rock. (we all do at times) But I was resolute, 2 fingers and a thumb, I didn't care if I had to walk the rest of the way, it was rock or nothing.

I lit a cig, fingers (and thumb) out, and a dude pulled up. It was only a short ride, but I asked him if it was the symbol of rock that swayed him to pick me up.....

He was on his way home from work and often picked up hitch hikers.

Rock is dead.

Staurt from Woking....... Thanks anyway

I was out on the sauce, so encumbered with public trans....port?

Well, you dont get much rock on the telly these days, so no-one on here (PH generally) will probably notice.

Well, here's the thing.
Thumb+index+little finger is also sign language for I love you.
It's more than possible that at least half of the passers by knew this and just thought you were being overly friendly. ;-)

Ok so I am gonna clear this up for you now.

I love you in sign language, (American, although is used all over)is thumb+ index finger + thumb palm forward (I would post a pic as I have this Tattooed on my back but don't know how to?? Blonde day)

The hand sign for Rock according to kid rock himself should really be without the thumb palms facing inwards, (also the sign language for bat, the flying variety if you were interested) Don't feel bad though many people including President Bush get this wrong.

Anyway you didn't get a lift or a lover
so next time stick to the thumbs up sign or call me and I will give you a backie on my pushbike and let you listen to music on my ipod ;-)

I think I will stick with the traditional thumb sign in future. Cheers for the offer though

wobble Absolutely none! but hey it's educational and had you hooked enough to read all the way through x So it prevented you from boredom for at least 5 seconds and isn't that what you are on here for? Killing boredom?
