Anyone else see the advert for this documentary airing on Channel 4 next Thursday 8th March at 21:00? Looks like it could be an excellent insight into what we've all known for years; i.e. climate change is NOTHING to do with us humans. New link here:

www.channel4.com/science/microsites/G/great_global_warming_swindle/index.html

I'm sure you'll all be watching

(edited to add new link)

Was that the one that had the trailer 'If you dare to dispute global warming you're regarded in the same tones as a holocaust denyer'?

scratchchin I wonder if it was proven to be rubbish whether Gordon would give us back the money from all of those 'greenhouse taxes'?

That's the one. Here's a synopsis:

"Manmade climate change is a lie ... the biggest scam of modern times. The truth is that global warming is a multibillion-dollar worldwide industry: created by fanatically anti-industrial environmentalists; supported by scientists peddling scare stories to chase funding; and propped up by complicit politicians and the media ... The fact is that CO2 has no proven link to global temperatures ... solar activity is far more likely to be the culprit."

Sounds like an interesting watch

yes I'll watch with interest. Make a nice change to watch a program on climate change without shouting at the telly!
What are the chances of the BBC also showing a balanced opinion? The square root of all springs to mind!

Sadly the part about scientists performing the 'right' studies and reaching the 'right' conclusions in order to get research grants, papers published etc are IMO true.

LET THAT BE YOUR BLOODY MANTRA !!!

(ok you could shorten it a tiny bit).

Actually, does anyone have the means of being able to record this on their PC ?
If not, what is the time and date for it, I could get my mum to record it for me

We don't need to go looking in your garden either, our computer systems can find you (cut to green house stored in abandoned lock-up....)

This will be interesting... laugh

Will they dare show it or will it mysteriously be taken off air. No doubt, the government will have "advisors" watching so as to prepare a counter attack / green tax-preservation retort.

Hmmm sounds like it'll be very balanced program! I wish I could say I'll be watching with interest for fresh insights but something tells me it'll be a tedious re-heating of old arguments and mud-flinging. They were predicting an ice-age in the 70's y'know...

Will definitely watch this one. Anyone else noticed that the fanatical fervour seems to have died down a bit? could it be that a distrustful and cynical public have heard this bunch cry wolf once too often? the only people I see 'toeing the GW line' are TV presenters who probably have a job at stake if they were to do otherwise.

Nope. News was on about new creatures in the Arctic which wouldn't have been discovered if not for GW.

Last night was an artist who is taking pictures and displaying them in public of mans destruction of the planet, and asking people to pledge to "do their bit for climate change" etc..

But I do watch the BBC at times, maybe that is the problem.

The heightened shrillness due to the release of the 4th IPCC report has died away now a bit which is to be expected - the rest is in your head methinks.

I can't believe they will allow this to be aired. If they do, then maybe other channels, papers, politicians will get a spine.

Erm I wouldn't get excited.

It could very well be like the recent BBC programme on conspiracy theories surrounding September 11th 2001. Whip up a fervour, promising revelations and shocking truths, only to shoot them all down in flames.

As for daring to show it, honestly, either way thats a bit laughable to suggest that it would be taken off air just for disagreeing with general opinion

And the BBC have run some very interesting "alternative views" on GW in recent weeks - albeit on the radio rather than TV.

But I have noticed that alternative viewpoints are suddenly emerging from the background again.

I wonder if the public are too far gone to take an unbiased view on man-made climate change? Is it likely to be sneered at and laughed off in the same way that conspiracy theories are?
