I'd like some information regarding the area. Could any locals possibly email me or post up here and I can email you through your PH profile. TIA

There's a decent scrappy as well, that still lets you wander around to pick your own bits off cars. Always an important factor when moving to an area!

Second thoughts, you`re probably right. There`s regular fights between chavs and eastern Europeans, and the one-way system is in a grey area between a mystery and a bad joke.

Does have a rather up-market night club though.

Hey, at least its not Corby....

(I'm in a village, 5 miles south of Kettering, about to get torn apart by Prescotts concrete and tarmac fetish)

Isham By pass, which was forced through as a 2.9 mile bypass on the wrong side of Isham. Rather than running it next to the railway line they forced through the slightly cheaper and more destructive option of swinging it out towards Little Harrowden. Now, suddenly, the 2.9 mile single carriageway route 'already agreed and in place' has been incorporated into Prescotts MK to Corby dual carriageway strategic route, and great and little harrowden are to be rent asunder by a four lane fully lit dual carriageway incorporating housing, business and leisure development. Of course, if we remove the original 2.9 mile section, the route alongside the railway line suddenly looks even more sensible than it did, but no, it would be in no ones interest to re-look at the whole thing as a new proposal, would it?

It is my belief that the councill knew what was coming all along, to be honest.

I know PH is probably the wrong place to complain about road building, but the whole thing is wrong. in the wrong place, and not really needed anyway.

Apols for thread hijack and rant...

Only just noticed this thread still bubbling away! I have been more active in the one on the Northants forum.

Jon, sorry to sound as if I wish to capitalise on your frustration, but is this dual carriageway likely to effect the areas I am looking at? Will the transport links improve?

Unlikely to impact directly on Desborough, no, unless you plan to drive to MK or M1 j14 a lot.

To return to OP, Des has a lot going for it. It is well situated, property is reasonably cheap, and if they ever re open corby or desborough train station, then prices will soar.
