So, i received 2 UK sterling cheques (yorkshire bank), payable to me, for a couple of grand each
I paid them into my german bank account (deutsche bank), took them in in person, bank fella filled out the form with my account number etc
UK bank has paid out, the money is gone from the UK account, but it hasn't gone into the german account

DB says they have no record of it, i don't have the little paying-in slip
they say they need to know from yorkshire bank which account it went to, yorkshire say they need DB to do the trace on it

what do i do now?

(no chance of fraudulent business btw wink )

Hugo
german banks can take a long time to process/credit checques, especially foreign currency. DB is noted for this! If more than 10 days has passed I'd definitely go back to the bank personally and ask for clarification.
PS they can hardly have processed the checques and claim now to have no knowledge of them!

well over 10 days, since october

they are claiming not to know where to even start looking, surely they must have some sort of cross-referenced filing system, I can't believe they process so many 'yorkshire bank' cheques

There may be a bank in the middle you don't know about. I 'lost' a payment from Austria once and it was eventually found in Citibank!
