They're probably all thinking the same as you. Just needs a Leader to get up and go and others will follow.
Get on out there - it'll be getting much colder in the next hour as the sun goes down.

Yep, get up and leave and call them all idiots if they decide to stay.

Come on guys don't be wussies
Pull together your a team and make the best of it.
Sure you can send out for hot drinks and get a few electric fan heaters.

We had no water on site today in Newbury
Industrial cleaning works for Cemex which uses more water than you can imagine.
No tea / coffee
And it took us 2 hours to get the plant up and running once we found a source of water to run the recovery pumps and get all the valves defrosted.
Only for the client to call it a day.
At least we made the effort.
(can charge 8 hours & mobilisation fee)

Isn't there some sort of H&S legal minimum working temperature where they've either got to provide protective clothing or shut the premises?

Have we moved jobs? I wasn't aware that we potentially were in competition.

Heating wasn't working at my office on Jan 2nd - i stuck it out for two hours until a conference call, then stuck that out for an hour, then thought "fk it" and went home. As i left i checked, the temperature was below 10 degrees...

From what i understand if the temperature in your office is below 16 degrees then you can refuse to work anyway or something like that.

clearly not self employed.

Got electrics? - buy some fan heaters, pop into millets and get a gas stove for hot drinks. Get back to work.

You complain about the lack of heat yet expect gritter lorry staff - and the people that help load up the lorries - to work outside where it's even colder!

Don't a woos - build up the team spirit / Brit WAR spirit and just get on with the job.

Too many companies going under at the moment - time people started fighting for survival.

Shut your pc down, go and hide in the toilets for 15 minutes, when everyone else thinks ah stevieb gone first so they can leg it, come back out of the lavs, power up your PC and call the management over and say, as everyone has gone that although you would really like to stay you can’t get anything done as everyone you need to talk to has left so you will be leaving also.

Ask for a pay rise in the morning.

I couldn't believe what I heard on the radio this morning.

It was the announcements about school closures due to no heating but there was one that said no heating at all but just bring warm clothes!

Humph

Summer - underground, pipelines & tunneling works hot & humid

Winter - Outside all hours & weathers industrial cleaning using water

Don't mention minimum working temp it was -6 when we started yesterday.
