Even though I've never felt one before, and I'm basing this on nothing at all, but it felt pretty serious to me in Sheffield - it woke everyone in our flats up and I can see people out in the street talking to each other.

There are some hilarious callers on Hallam FM if anyones near enough to get it.

Woman had a bowl of milk in the microwave - and half of it spilled out!

Extensive damage to my room aswell...

Oh and the experts on the radio are now saying 5.3, which is pretty significant as far as I can work out.

I'm genuinely surprised at the size of this quake. For so many people across the UK to have felt it, it must have been one mighty shift in the earth.
Mybrainhurts lives near me as do a few others. Certainly, to me, it didnt feel 'minor'.

I kind of sensed something was happening, and turned the radio down, the it felt like very deliberate, forceful rocking movements. The only thing I can compare it to was being on a ferry when they get a shimmy on.

Its hard to comprehend the forces at work to shake the earth beneath us - its pretty fascinating!

My Mum works in the building shared with the BBC studios in Leeds...

Apparently Paul and Harry are very pleasant, as you would assume, and Christa is a right one. Parks on the double yellows right outside the door all the time aswell..

Gossip matters...
