I had to do that on wednesday although i tried very hard to pursuade my mate otherwise she was adamant she was not having her messed up!!! you`ve got to admit though theyre a pain in the bum to take on and off and im parenoid about leaving it unattended withought the top on, there are some scrotes around!!( ps mines a silver chim)
Can't stand seeing muppetts who have bought convertables and drive around on the few hottest days of the year we get roof up.
Especially those who go out to part with hard earned cash to specifically buy a brand new car and opt for a convertable and drive it roof up.
Lynch them all I say!

I think this will run and run this thread
There are times when you just can't get the roof in the boot, maybe the boot wsas full of beer for a big party later, or perhaps a couple of dead bodies stuffed in there?
Me? My roof is in the garage at home not been on the car in ages. I did get caught out last week though when it unexpectedly rained - I had to rush out and drive around at over 30mph till the rain stopped

Must admit, the Chimaera roof is no way near as easy as my Elan's.
The Elan takes around 5 seconds to put up and doesn't compromise boot space, the Chim, well, depends on how much stuff you have in the boot and if you can get the thing to line up quickly etc.
However, on days like the ones we have recently been experiencing where the chances of rain are virtually zero, people have no excuse!

ah its simple really.
is the sun shining ? yes. Roof off, stick in garage. Drive
Does it look like rain ? Do you have the spare in the boot ? remove and replace with can of tyre weld. Roof will now go in/out in <5 secs
Paranoid about leaving the roof off ? I wouldnt do it on the street but regularly do at tesco, pub car park, work, outside the house. Never had anyone touch it. Although I did once come out of tescos to find a young lady sat patiently in the passenger seat wanting to be taken for a ride ! <and no I didnt for the record lol>
Ive previously had an MX-5, saab 900 and 9-3 convertibles and I left the roof off all the time in them. I must be getting paranoid in my old age as I sometimes put the roof on the chim!. I remember one glorious period 1995 or 96 it was sunny for 6 weeks , the MX5 roof didnt go up the whole time 24x7.

I just saw a Chim (silver as if that matters) occupied two up, driving along with the roof on, in this weather. 26c, not a cloud in the sky. That must be illegal, it certainly would be in a Griff. Perhaps Chim owners have special dispensation.
You'll find me driving my griff with the roof on at the mo. as i have a burnt bonce
,Mind you,the A/C makes up for it

tell me, why do Chim owners all seem to have the rear part up all the time! It looks SO poo like that!
My wedge is the same! Put it right down, or buy a targa!

Rant just about to begin:
TVR MADE the car like that - so that people had a CHOICE!!! Why would I buy a Targa which gives me NO CHOICE
- Only a wedge owner would do that

Then your brother don't know how to set-up his car for roof-down driving...shame.

I like it best that way.

Not all owners, dont make a sweeping statement like that
