Hi, to everyone interested in going on our runout, we have decided the day will be Sunday 18th February, to meet at the long stay car park up at Ringwood, (Poulner Hill) at 11.00am for a 11.15am leave to then do a run down to Lulworth cove, there is a large car park down there that we should all fit in!! Please note though that the car park is a PAY AND DISPLAY! Exact route to Lulworth cove to still be confirmed, BUT.... if anyone wants us to meet them along the way, then let me know, so that route can be arranged to go any particular way. Thanks and look forward to seeing everyone who has said they would like to attend and hopefully the weather will be on our side. As in previous thread if weather is awful then runout will be postponed to following sunday.
Thanks all, Chris.driving

Thanks for your route suggestion V8S, it sounds great and a good one to take, i haven't actually set up a route yet, as i was just waiting to see who was going to attend, and in case anyone would of liked us to do a stop/pick up on the way thro', but, most certainly your route sound like a good one. I hadn't thought of anywhere to go after Lulworth, as several people had mentioned they may eat there, but i suppose on the day something extra could always be arranged!
What i will do is on the saturday of the 17th feb I shall set up a definate route, hopefully everyone who is going to come would of let me know by then if they needed a stop/pick up, so i shall print up the route and i will give it out at Ringwood, just so everyone knows whereabouts we are all heading and via which roads!!!
Thanks again Chris rotate driving

The reason I say this is that I live quite a way from Ringwood so I'd rather not drive for 1 1/2 hours just to get to the meeting point. If peeps were continuing from Lulworth I could tag along for that part or perhaps join somewhere near Corfe if the route goes that way.

It won't actually take long to drive to Lulworth from the ferry or Poole so you might want to extend the route, otherwise the Dorset part of the run will last about 1/2 hour.

Hi V8S,

Where do you live? We might be able to plan this within our route.
Alternatively meet with you ,and perhaps others, somewhere en-route?

If we take Ferry that could be Corfe or if by road perhaps The Bakers Arms on the A35?

Really need you to tell us your home town or a good meeting point for you. Once we have details from various persons we can plan route which might take in Swanage, Weymouth and the scenic route you mention, either on the way or when we leave Lulworth.
Wait hearing from you.

Chris

I'll try to be there too. But I've just been informed by the wife that 'The new fence panels need putting up, and anyway you promised to take me to Lyme Regis to collect fossils.'

What do you thenk my chances are of escaping.....?

You know, there's a fossil forest on the shore to the east of Lulworth Cove - basically fossilised tree stumps. I believe they are visible at low tide.

Not sure if that floats your wife's boat.

Sooo tempted to come down, but its a fair distance on salty roads. Was your profile pic by any chance taken near Chaldon/Ship Inn, as it looks familiar.

Pic was taken just off A37 (yeovil to dorchester) at the turn off to Sydling St Nicholas. There's a small place to park there. Often used by parasailors who use the hill beyond.

Yeah, we know of this. As long as she's not in the mood for trying to dig the bloody things up to bring home....
