Talk to me about the Europa S...
Discussion
Hello everybody. My first Pistonheads post. I bought an Europe S 2007 just over a month ago. Always fancied an Elise. But something caught my eye with the Europa 10 years ago, while I was into an aged BMW E30 tourer (which has parts of the same front suspension as the M3), before I knew of Exiges and Evoras: I didn't know it wasn't really significantly bigger than the Elise's as I'd imagined. I didn't know it has so many VX 220 mechanics. Frankly, in hindsight, the lower end torque helps me in my introduction to PROPER driving and hence being a bone-fide petrolhead now So, would have got one anyway. Therefore, I agree that it's too Lotus to be a GT. But. Suits me, I'm 58..... I didn't know how rare it is (I think I have the 10th one ever built, with the mapping UG, and, yes, it's Granite Grey. Lotus really cocked up the intro of this car). None the less, having been not-torpidly-driving just 'cooking' sub 3Litre BMW, Volvo and Mercedes automatic estate cars since year 2000: it's a revelation to me, a Lotus newbie. I'm glad I've finally joined all you Lotus nuts. Works for me, it's what I wanted, loving it. Yes, a Marmite car....
