LOTUS SPORT EXIGE 240R ON FIFTH GEAR (CHANNEL 5)
For those of you who receive Channel 5 either in the UK or via
satellite/cable:
We have just been informed by Channel 5 that the Lotus Sport Exige 240R
will
be featured in the first programme of the new Fifth Gear series this
evening
(Monday 10 October 2005) at 20:00 on Channel 5.

In reply to the whole 5th gear thing with the Lotus not beating the 911. Why was a woman driving it? Yes she is quite nice but why let her actually drive cars? I think she was better in the 911 because it was 'easier' to drive. When she was in the Lotus she said it was good round the corners but she must have got scared and failed to proove it. Clive
I thought it was quite good - Tiff thrashing the new Aston V8, 997 vs 240R, Plato swapping rides with a fighter pilot, and loads of rare Ferrari's getting auctioned.
The 240R lap time did seem a bit of a joke, especially as it is a circuit that should favour the Exige. Seems strange they got VBH to do the timed laps when they've got two experienced racing drivers on the programme.

That was complete rubbish, either Vbh has forgotten how to drive or there was something wrong with that car. I thought the Exige looked quicker and she seemed un-sure of it during the lap were she was talking. I didn't like the Chrome wheel's thou would have looked better with black, what a Joke ! and both Tiff and Jason said "are you sure you weren't having a bad day" let's get the same two Car's on Top Gear and let the Stig have a go that's what I say.

I thought it was poor.Cr*p piece on planes ( who cares in a motoring programme )and a complete rip off of Top Gears lap times board . Wheres the originality!I don't think VBH could drive the Exige properly - the 911 is obviously easier to drive and suited her.The only good bit was the Aston - what a peach!The one hour programme seemed to last 5 hours .

I was a bit surprised that the 240R was slower but the Porker was a Carrera S with PASM so not exactly a base model (same could be said of the Exige I guess)

Just like the price tag
It would be a good comparison to make though... Ge rid of all the traction control and driver aids and see if the Exige is quicker, which I would suggest it probably would be

Richard, that clearly states an inline 6 cylinder....... I think (?) it is the AJ6 Jaguar engine...
