111S vs 111R - The R wins it!
Discussion
Just been for a test drive in a 111S and 111R, and although the S is a great all-round package I just couldn't help myself and ordered an R for May delivery.
By the time I spec'd it up to the same level as the S (excluding hard top) it came in at a midge's dick under £30k, but I'll probably have Tracker fitted on top of that.
The S is a great drive but where it bottles out at high revs the R by comparison gets its second wind and launches you forward, what a feeling!
Thanks to all who suggested trying both, I would otherwise have gone for the S on a financial basis but the heart rules the wallet and the R is the one to go for.

Hi DERVish,
went through the same dilemma as yourself just before xmas and came out with a shiny blure 111R - Although I benefited from the end of the financial year sales drive it may be worth pushing a bit harder on price -I got 111R + metallic paint (magnetic blue) + touring pack + hard top for just over 29K.
Good luck and enjoy,
Mark

but whitch one is faster on a track????
Hello Niko
I guess in the real world their performance is similar but the 111r althought heavier, is faster at high speeds because of her high revving Toyota engine.
At the end of the day, max speed is not the reason we buy Elises.
I think they combine feedback, cornering, braking and accelerating abilities, with their looks, in a way that no other car can match
If I just wanted to be as fast as possible on a track I would buy a track day special.
Take care

p.s. By the way, you have a very nice motor
