Can I just take this chance to reccomend to any that has an Elise to buy this book. Its absolutley brilliant with loads of stuff about the development of all the variants etc.

I bought mine from the Lotus show last weekend and have'nt put it down since.

Izza said: Sounds good, how would you rate it compared to John Tipler's Lotus Elise : The Complete Story
I got this cheap on Ebay and found it a good read.

Better, worse, same?

I don't have this yet so I can't offer a comparison. This one has a good in depth coverage of the design process, Prototyping, Testing, Press and then all the variants. It also has a chapter on the S2.

Jan-Bart said: I've read it and wasn't that impressed. The design & development story is fine, but the race history isn't. There's much more to be told than 2 years of Autobytel series.
Some of the text consists of Lotus press bulletins quoted verbatim. It's also full of spelling mistakes.
Looks to me like Mr. Walton lost interest at some point and quickly finished the thing with off the shelf material from Lotus. Expensive too.

I was only looking for a good book on the development of the car - People racing Elises wasn't a big concern for me.
