Driving the Elise into Europe
Discussion
I've done 5000 miles this year in Europe in my Elise; bloody excellent fun!
There's not much to it really. Make sure you have ALL your documents (insurance, license etc). 5 star AA European breakdown cover is a MUST. I've never bothered with spare bulbs. Warning triangle is a must, as is a fluorescent jacket. Keep a big bottle of water in the boot (just for safe keeping). If you're going to switzerland make sure you get a vignette (swiss mway tax).
Urmmm, that's all I can think of right now. Other than that, enjoy it - it's bloody fantastic!!!

I always take copies of the key documents and store them away from my main luggage, just in case.

How do you alter the headlights for left hand drive?
You don't.
You buy a little kit (which is basically two stickers) from halfords for a ludicrous amount of money (£5ish) and stick them over your headlights in a certain place (it says where in the instructions). However, I've only done that once and to be honest it was purely to show the police should they have pulled me over (to show willing, so to speak) however on subsequent times I never bothered - but, having said that, I didn't get pulled over either.
Hi havent posted for a while but three of us from work have elises 2 silver s1's and a red s2 we did the trip to the nurburgring amazing it was an un real experiance, we travelled to antwerp for a night in a 5 star hotel and a night out then the journey started to the ring!. There are now 4 of us with elises we have been joined by an orange 111s s1 and are hoping to go again this easter cant wait!.
Hi Jody, we are planning also a trip in the beginning of summer or so, I life in the Netherlands and ofcorse I've bin there before, had a great day.
Also a few posted here will go from GB we talked about that and will open a contribution to that to see if more will come over for a very nice car-day at the Ring in Germany!
A lot to see, a lot to talk and a lot to drive there and indeed a great experience...

or you just use insulation tape and make a token effort.
