thanks irish. Having recently forked out over 20k euro to bring in a 996 , I'm more than a little envious at you probably being able to get away without paying v.r.t. I have looked at this area in detail and reckon that it would pay you to try and get as new a 996 as possible. V.r.t. is calculated at 30% the value of an equivalent irish car ... so the more you spend in the u.k. the more you save when you import!!

Thanks Irish .. look forward to gassin with gully .I know a few porsche lads here in dublin but they drive 993's or 968's. They just don't understand!!
Honestly , I think you must be the luckiest man I know , that you'll be getting away with no v.r.t. I'd have been able to move up 3 years if I had your moves.. more power to ya! ( as they say over here).best of luck with the house hunting .. buyin or renting?

I have to say my dream car would be a 4S .. I've not spotted one on irish roads yet , so it'd be close to one of a kind over here. Ho hum .. maybe some day ... Don't want to depress you re. property over here , but the papers took quotes from the 4 leading estate agents in dublin recently , they all predicted 10 to 12% growth here this year .. get your foot on the ladder ,my son!!

have a place in the west so not too bad.......have you ever heard a dublin agent playing down the market.....

NO I HAVEN'T .. BUT I HAVEN'T SEEN A HINT OF A DROP IN PRICES HERE IN 15 YEARS EITHER .. SOME OF MY PALS HAVE BEEN WAITING ON THE SIDELINES FOR 5 OR MORE YEARS HOPING FOR THE DROP .. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN .. IMO .. AND NO .. I'M NOT IN THE REAL ESTATE BUSINESS.
LET ME KNOW HOW YOU'RE GETTING ON CAR AND HOUSE -WISE THOUGH
