Right, for the numbers geeks out there.

From Dom

" 358 bhp with 321ftlbs @ the rear wheels not quite has much as the Tuscans has they have a better exhaust design, about 15 ft-lb's torque down 10 bhp down against Tuscan ,don't forget though you still running cats that a restriction of it own but will pass all emissions requirements"

So applying 15% losses that's 411.7 bhp and 370 torques

The Standard Tuscan "S" Don used as a benchmark was 304 BHP with 267 ft-lbs torque @ the rear wheels
If mine had made the numbers it should as a 3.6 it would have been circa 297bhp at the rear wheels

7 liter for 700 bhp, shouldn't that be 100bhp/l then?

Let me try that again without the assistance of a half bottle of Shiraz smile

Thank you Pascal

Picked my Tuscan S up from Dom on friday with a 4.3 rebuild. There is much speculation, comparison and controversy surrounding Speed Six rebuilds on Ph at the moment and I can only comment on the experience I have. Dom has been very good to deal with from the outset and has been more than helpful.
The car is running well and I intend to get through the 1000 mile run in period a.s.a.p so I can appreciate the full output of the engine. The main complaint about the Speed Six has always been reliability, rather than lack of power, so I think if Dom is standing by his work with a 5 year warranty you can't knock that. I can strongly recommend Dom and his lads if you want looking after properly.

Well just dyno'd the 4.3 Sag at TVR Power. 380BHP on the Tarmac!

I am sure a lot of folks have been looking at this thread and waiting for more results.

So here‘s the facts.

388BHP and 330lb/ft at the wheels. bounce

446BHP and 385lb/ft at the flywheel on calibrated Dyno

lick

Dom,s dyno -Nice kit,this

I was thinking about some of those lovely 19" Jade R wheels in boxes next to the car- but they don't do orange!

Thanks to Dom, Jason, and John Ravenscroft, and their patience during the mapping session to create the ultimate benchmark for all the latest 4.3 Speed Six engines.

Engine pulled apart by myself following an HP oil pump failure.

Fitted with 4.3 TVR Power upgrade, Blue Printed and built by Jason at STR8-SIX.

Loads of detail work done by myself; big bits hand fettled cutting grinding, TIG welding dremel'ing, polishing, shotblasting, powder coating, plasma coating
-sorry for being the anorak Dom & Jason if you read this stuff!- but it was worth it in the end, now I can polish my car with Autoglym all over!- polishing inside the sump and plating the chain tensioners may have been a step too far though!nerd

Thanks again Dom & Jason.

Thats great. Mine is back with Dom after the running in period and he is Re-mapping next Monday or Tuesday. I hope mine gives such an impressive output. I will report back on here when I have had it back for a few days and been able to give it a proper run.

Nice one Graham, that's the best BHP of any 4.3 I know of.
Interesting, yours made 31bhp more than mine, but 15 torques less.
Do you have different cams/ injectors ???
I guess all that polishing/ head work etc really has paid off, and your exhaust suits big power.

I bet Dom’s pleased smile

Well done! That's a great power improvement over an S engine!

Hate to ask, but do you know roughly how Power's dyno compares to the Surrey Rolling Road? Is it similar?

Awesome work Graham! (obviously mega credit to Jason and others involved too).

What is the reason for the power/torque dropoff in the 5,000 range? Were the wheels spinning/losing traction?

The glitch that you see at 5,000 rpm is a little too much fuel the dip you can all see at 3/3500 rpm is cam timing, what your seeing now is a base setting the graph looks messy but on the road drives perfect, the next engine build and mapping section will have a more linear graph with more lower rpm torque and maybe more HP

Looks great Dom! What sort of turn around time is a "drive in - drive out" 4.3 upgrade (roughly)?

Amazing results, my Tuscan S on the same dyno produced just under 330 bhp at the wheels and it's no slouch with that.

I'm guessing the reduced rev limit goes a long way to increasing longevity too, though personally my fantasy S6 would be even higher revving, not lower.

Congrats though Graham, I imagine it to be the perfect engine for a Saggy which can comfortably handle the extra power. What a car yours must be now. You should put a V-spec badge on the back (Varley Spec)!

The Pits, has your S engine been remapped? Was your 330bhp with or without decat pipes?
