Right, just got the news from Jason re my car. It has just finished it's dyno mapping session at TVR power today and I'm over the moon with the results. It's made a simply massive 415bhp at the wheelS, which works out at 477bhp at the flywheel. It's Dom's 4.3 kit built by Jason. It's got loads of torque as well but Ive forgotten the details in all the excitement.

I'm hoping Dom can post up some more details about the session but speaking to Jason he said that even the le mans racers didn't make that kind of power.

Woohoo I'm so happy!!!!!!

Dom where are you! Post some details up please smile

Bloody hell.....that's insane hp, and well done to all involved! Dom's gonna have to crack 500 now with the 4.5, unless there's something wrong with it. ;-)

Supercharger.....who needs one of those smile

This has certainly set the benchmark, and in a T350 with its "restrictive" exhaust. You're gonna need to put your mapping head back on to get your 4.5 to crack the magic 500.

Perhaps it needs to go into a Tuscan with the less restrictive exhausts? Are you sure it's running on all 6 cylinders.....dodgy coil pack maybe? wink

Nice to see the power is still all there right up to 7500, so the S6's legendary top end is preserved despite the longer stroke. Very impressive.

An S6 that didn't rev wouldn't appeal to me.

I dont understand how these figures come about - a 4ltr Red Rose S6 is about 370 bhp? How can an 8% increase in volume increase the power by 30%?

er because it's a lot more than just an increase in stroke.

all the internals are new. pistons, cams, you name it, it's not just the crank.

BMW's 3.2 straight six M3 engine produced 340bhp in standard tune and 360 in the CSL (still 3.2), so there's plenty of room for improvement from a standard 4 litre S6.

Taking the equivalent state of tune to 4 litres would produce 425 and 450bhp respectively.

So 470+bhp is entirely from a 4.3 straight six.

A 4.3 version of BMW's M3 CSL engine would produce 483bhp.

See my posts & piccies on page 12 of this thread for further details of the build.

My problem is now I cannot pick up the car until next weekend! - it's going to be a long week next week smile

looking at the printout looks as though BHP at the wheels topped out at 411ish BHP not 415bhp as originally stated. Still I'm not complaining wink

Staggering results congratulations to all involved, that torque figure doesn't look too shabby either.

By the power of Grayskull, that's insane!

clap

Edited to ask; what's the difference between this latest unit and the one in Mr Varley's Sag that makes the extra power?

That is one hell of an engine... My old Westfield had P2W Ratio of 500bhp and that went like st off a shovel....

Hope you got some nice sticky tyres, i've just fitted some Toyo R1R's to my Tamora and they feel really good, just thinking of dialing in a bit more neg on the fronts to get that planted feel in the corners (currently -1 all round)

Are you doing TVRCC Oulton Park trackday later in the year? Would love to see/hear that beast in action???

That is simply awesome! Would love to know what 0-100mph and 1/4 mile times your car is capable of.

You're assuming the cars have been driven for the last few months wink

Traction would be interesting with one of the 4.3s in this weather.
