I think I saw you out today - a grey Range Rover moved over and opened his window? I was on the way to RG to pick it up, and wondered if it was you.

RG were happy that you were out as well. How's yours going?

Yes and yes! Will run it in for a bit, and head back for a proper mapping and a 'tunnel' map as well.

I have to say though, it's properly fast now. God knows what it will be like with a bit more...

Edit

Forgot to say - the son wanted to hear it tonight, so I started it up. It promptly set off the car alarm next to it.... biggrin

That's a real shame - I'm very sorry to hear that. Good luck with the sale.

Sorry Lee! I was in the mud-plugger anyway, nothing special to look at.

I was about to say, that's JamieP's, isn't it - and then looked at the video title.

You're putting together a good bit of work here Ryan. (For those that don't know, Jamies Supra uses Nitrous to get over turbo lag - amazing work).

Is that fully run in? Fair play on transparency.

What do the powers that be say about it? Will 4 RON give 30 bhp? The only reason I ask is that another recent 4.5 gave much the same power figure, and it turned out to have a duff head gasket.

Jon, I'm fairly sure Dom himself gave a 15% power loss figure between fly and wheels.

Ryan, any personal pics of the grey one? biggrin And mine was very slightly more than that - I'm waiting until we've run in and had a proper mapping session before I 'unveil' figures.

Which will be in the new year though....

Cheers! smile The styling is being changed slightly over the winter - nothing externally drastic though.

Before we bog ourselves down in another slanging match......

Wasn't the first Syvecs development car a standard and well worn FF engine? That didn't seem to have any problems with timing being unduly pulled due to mechanical noise being confused with knock.
yes

It should also be noted that us early adopters are all experiencing new things, feeding back to RG, Ryan and internally amongst ourselves - there is no substitute for actually putting miles on the engine and going from there.

As for the slanging match, I totally agree on both points - we've had enough, but I completely agree that the RG camp have had far too much thrown at it. Maybe the Power fanbois can wind their necks in as well, and we can settle it on the dyno (when my car is back and I'm allowed to drive again.... 4 weeks and 4 days for the latter....not that I'm counting).

Pascal, the fanbois thing is something from the tech world I believe (a subtle attempt at humour).

I'm also struggling with the irony that Dom has thrown a hissy fit in a thread about a main competitors product.

Haters gonna hate? Really. rolleyes

This thread might help. Ryan uses the phrase 'cam overlap'. 4.5/Syvecs.

I'm guessing it's what makes the difference in drivability when tuners are doing their thing with lumpy (and hence more powerful), cams?
