I'm looking to spend upto £100. I originally looked at this at full price. Now it's half price it sounds that much more attractive!. The one you've linked to doesn't get very good reviews.

Low viewing angle and probably a bit bab but I spotted this in the local Shell garage and thought it might be of interest to someone (maybe a second camera for the rear?)

I quite like the Viofo A119 from the latest Techmoan review.

Snap, been using it for well over a year and it's worked perfectly throughout.

After a western power van forced me up a kerb causing some nice damage to my wheel but I can't prove it I've ordered one of these. I'll report back when it arrives from China.

As I have to park in a car park apparently full of careless utter gits, and I'm about to swap my dented old E39 for a rather less old, currently straight and very shiny black car of love, I've ordered one of these to replace my wedge. It's the park guard mode that sold it, in case you couldn't guess wink

Apologies if this has been asked a million times already, but are there any tips for ensuring cables stay behind trim? I've got power to a mirror mounted camera, but can't get the cable to stay between the trim and windscreen in the A pillar.

Did you order from outside of the UK? If so which link please?

Depends on the vehicle.

In my Focus I removed some trim and ran the cables in the same clips as the vehicle wiring to keep it tidy.

I've also previously used a small section of black plastic conduit to hold a cable to the camera as it "appears" from the headlining and behind the mirror.

Stick up a photo - might be easier to make suggestions.

Wrap some insulation tape around the cable so its wider than the gap in the trim and then use a trim tool to tuck it away

Is anyone managing to run a dashcam from a powerbank for over 10 hours? I need a solution that can be moved between cars so hard wiring isn't an option.

The vehicle is left overnight and sometimes longer to which I'd require recording. I've trawled the internet but can't find a suitable solution yet.

Can any fellow forum members offer some advice?

Seems like it should work. Say the dascham is pulling on average 500mA to record and charge as required, probably less if you can deactivate the screen.

You have a 5000mAh power bank

You get 10 hours

Get a bigger power bank you get longer, the issue is of course the charging of the power bank which will almost certainly not be able to charge enough in the car because your journeys won't be long enough, so you'll have to keep removing it from the car to charge it.

Most daschams use a USB connector so that's the wiring sorted.

I used to run my dashcam from a portable jump starter as my van didn't have a power socket.

Ran for a couple days without charging the battery.

Can't remember the make though. You just need to work out battery capacity and drain current/voltage of dash cam.

I would think that 10 hours of storage would be an issue for most cameras

Thanks for the info, it's starting to make a little more sense.

I have the opportunity to charge the powerbank in the day time which would eliminate the need to charge on the move. This is what I conderidered buying - https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Cell-Phone-Portable-Pow...

I then need a camera that can support recording for a long period of time. I thought about a cheaper Amazon option but it needs good night mode recording. All cameras have such mixed reviews it's hard to decide what route to go down.

I have that powerbank although dont use it in the car. It is quite bulky. Surely it might be better to have two hardwire kits in each car and just remove the camera to swap between the two cars. Also, with winter coming, I am not sure what the recommended min temps are for the powerbank left overnight
