I've answered my own question...

Or a tenner less on eBay.

One question though, this is an SD card - is there some way you can copy the map to the Nuvi? The unit originally comes with the Europe maps embedded anyway so why lose your SD card slot?

Would it not be possible to copy the maps from SD to your PC and then back to Nuvi internal memory (having backed up Nuvi beforehand)?
No, I think there's a software copy lock.

But if you get the SD card version it's easy, no?

Having got utterly fed up with the windscreen sucker mount, I've just installed a Garmin 'Automotive dashboard mount' in my SLK32. Despite what it says in the instruction leaflet, it is easier to stick the 'permanent' adhesive pad to the dashboard top first and let it bond for 24 hours. Then carefully peel off the protective film and stick the mount to the dashboard. Then let it bond for another 24 hours before attaching the cradle suspension arm and cradle.
Yep, did this from new - won't have anything stuck to thw windscreen. Also note that on some dash areas you can find a shiny plastic or laquered wood area and the mount-sucker sticks solidly to it without the circular mounting plate.

Uploaded my "2008" maps and set off down the A1 - maps incorrect already !!! Gonerby Moor roundabout bypass not on "new" maps even thought it's been in construction all thru 2007.......since then spotted loads of wrong bits - thinking about a refund.
Interesting - please keep us informed! type

I purchased 2008 US maps on eBay - came on an SD card.
