Frankly at the price it seems very good.
One question can you buy South African maps for it?

hmm not good reviews so far!
Does the Tom Tom do eastern European Maps? (Bulgaria specifically).
The Garmin Nuvi 250W with the European maps has detailed coverage only of Sofia in addition to major roads in the country. I can't see an option on their website for buying detailed maps of the whole country.Does the Tom Tom do eastern European Maps? (Bulgaria specifically).

Saying that, I guess it depends how far off the main road system Bansko is; Multimap just has it as a dot on the map about 15 miles east of the E79, so it may not show up at all on the map in the Nuvi.
Hmm so this is the dilema - when you go into Comet etc and ask noone really knows. You look at the Tom Tom or Garmin website and there are no numbers. The FAQ has nothing relating to my query.pdV6 said:
I have a 250W at home; if I remember I'll spark it up later and see what kind of detail is available in Bulgaria.
Cheers that would be excellent. Can you just do a route to bansko from your home postcode 7 then fast fwd through the trip?
Or simply to sofia airport to bansko?>

I'd try the airport to Bansko route to see if it even knows where Bansko is first
Failing that, I guess the best bet would be to use a paper map (shudder!) to find the nearest town to Bansko on a major road and route to there, hoping to pick up local signs once you get close.
Thats the other problem - where doyou buy good road maps of Bulgaria (which have the town names in English? - as they have greek & Russian symbols in the language and often its impossible to take an educated guess at the translation.)Failing that, I guess the best bet would be to use a paper map (shudder!) to find the nearest town to Bansko on a major road and route to there, hoping to pick up local signs once you get close.
