TBH i'm getting fed up waiting... i'm getting closer and closer to selling the chim!

Huh? That's a pretty strange reaction to delays on one specific upgrade - is that really the only reason you're keeping the car?

We aplogise for the delay as we are now carrying out durabilty and performance evaluation of the standard build 4.0 litre engined Chimaera, this means extensive Dyno testing, road and track mileage. Unfortunately testing must be completed and this takes time. We can not release this upgrade prematurely and must protect our customers interests. Everything is going well and we hope to have completed testing during August.
Performance is better than our set objective target, being equivalent to the 500HC. We are repeatably achieving in excess of 265hp and 255 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels, this being roughly equivalent to 300+ hp. at the flywheel, depends what drive line losses are assumed. 4.5 and 5.0 litre engines will show a similiar performance increases.
I hope all our potential customers can wait a little longer as the car is sensational to drive. Incidently TVR Sprint will be publishing their evaluation in the August edition.

I have a pre-serpentine TVR 4.5 supercharged which was built for me in 1998. It uses an Opcon screw type blower and a MoTec fully prog engine mgmt system with big injectors. The final set-up and testing was done by John Eales and Dennis Priddle (who designed it). Interestingly it used standard compression heads initially and low boost (about 6psi) and installed in my Range Rover at the time it could blow the a*se off anything. peak torque was at just 2500rpm and on the overrun flames came out of the tailpipes. i drove it without so much as a whisper of trouble for 3 years until I overcooked it chasing a Porsche up a hill at 120mph...oops.Dennis has just rebuilt it for me with a brand new 4.6 block and lower compression, big valve, ported and polished heads. I no longer have anything to put it in so if anyone is interested email me. Steve

thats not my reaction to the delay its the only reason i'm not selling it! i like the car its just too slow and doesn't handle like i want..... okay i can sort the handling with nitrons etc but i don't really wanna spend any cash on it unless i'm keeping it long term unless i can make it go faster too for sensible money

Worth talking to your insurers first... most of them seem to run a mile when you mention the S word.

I know they can be a bit raw but I always found the S to be quiet reasonable on the insurnace front, saying that the Cerb is only about 100 squid different

Dead right, most of them can hardly put the phone down quick enough when you mention forced induction or laughing gas.

Was surprised to be quoted virtually same for supercharged as for standard from A-Plan yesterday (& comparable with quotes from the regular TVR insurers for standard model)

Excellent timing for our supercharged engines, tweak up the boost & power a little, in safety bounce
