Thought I'd share some pics with you of my Cerbera having a little overhaul, basically a re trim, repaint, light upgrade and a few little mods here and there.

I bought the car 2 months ago and I love it, having wanted one for years it's everything i want in a car but the interior is a little dated so I want to do things my way.

I'm retrimming it all in black leatheer with lots of carbon and some dark grey alcantara. I recently went in a Lambo superleggera and I love the way it has a race style interior, but is also luxury. Due to this and with strong emphasis from GT2 Porsches I'm going to try to create it in a Cerbera. Doing an alcantara rooflining is going to be hardest though?

I'm also going to add to the roll cage. If you look at the b pillars on a cerbera cage they have almost 90 degree bends, I've had a look at some of rolled the cars on the Douglas Valley website and you'll notice the cage doesn't hold up well. I'm well into vehicle structure and how they fair in a crash so I'm going to add an X diagonal and trim it in leather, yep, it'll render the rear seats unuseable but it's not like I'll have people in the rear anyway.

here's the interior all stripped, more pics to follow later.

I've stripped even more out now! all the carpet etc and yeh, I'm kinda making mental notes on how and where it's all from.

Been looking at the cage and trying to work out ways to strengthen it whilst still staying a nice road car. Structuraly it's seriously lacking cross bracing door bars which I don't really want to add though.

Anyone recomend any carpet suppliers?

I want mine sprayed Orange (Lambo pearl mica type thing) but the interior is magnolia and green.

Would love to get it re-done in balck with orange stiching.

Sounds a quality colour combo, many years ago I saw a black cerbera, black hide interior but with bright orange clocks, looked fantastic

What's involved in doing the roof & door cards?

They're really quite simple, pop all the covers off the roll cage and you'll see the roof lining peels off, although it did leave the foam backing on which is taking ages to peel off to reveal the fibreglass roofskin. Help is at hand though as the little 10 year old whoi lives opposite loves TVR's and is on school hols so £5 and him and his little hands are gonna pick off the lot!lol. The add VHT glue and retrim in Alcantara, the rear screen is gonna be a bit tricky but turn the alcantara over and press it into the gap between the shell and the rear screen.
Door cards all pop apart easy, a few allen keys and lots of black tigerseal and there apart, recover the front fibreglass moulds with VHT glue and alcantara and replace the carpet centres with 130cmx45cm (I think) carbon fibre sheets.
Job done. I'll add pics up off the job so far soon.

More pics to follow soon , not done much recently as had so much on with work as always, Got my new Tamora seats all stripped ready to trim, had a dry run fitting em into car and they're tight, but fit. Finaly decided to go for black leather with very dark grey alcantara roof lining and seat centres and a few bits of red alcantara here and there to contrast the red Sabelt harnesses and calipers.

Gonna phone AJ Trimming during the week to arrange dropping off, Got to get new carpet this week too, black with red binding, a bit of me is wondering if black and red is a little 1980's though?

Ha, That's one of my boys! OK, An update, went to get my Alcantara the other day and found some in the exact colour of the car, for only £23 m for the gen. item. as it's being discontinued. (I bought 6 meteres incase I ever spill anything etc) The seat swabs, dash surround, and steering wheel are at a local trimmer in Newbury, Phil Silk, he's been doing Hotrods for years and trimmed my Escort Cosworth a few years back so I know he does a good job. A lot of the leather is being dyed from the dark blue to black, bought the most expensive leather dye I could find and it's ace, should be for £80 for 500ml. The Sagaris/T350 seats have been modified too to accept harnesses with the rears being done in the colour of the car.
I've also trimmed a few extras bits in Alcantara, see below. Gonna do the roof lining during the week, Hopefully CarbonCerbie.co.uk will be doing the door speaker pods soon.

I think it's called crystal topaz? Not 100% sure though, when I get it painted I'm going to get a slightly bluer flip added to it though.

does the colth piece in the middle of the door card come away from the door card and leather so its easy to cover?

and does the headlining cloth panel come away for easy recovering?

It's so easy it's unreal, the whole door just comes apart bit by bit with allen keys and eventually you just peel off the old tweed. The roofling is a bit more labour intensive as you have to strip a lot of the interior first, then spend hours stripping all the old foam from under the tweed off. I stripped most of mine off, then when I covered the roof with VHT glue the solvent in it stripped all the remaining off so my alcantara roofling has a few tiny bumps, you cant see them, only feel them when you run your hands over it, which with alcantara is a lot!

I'll post up pics of my interior tomoz but doing it is nothing to be afraid of, it's just so easy.
