Just had the pleasure of driving Dom @ Power's Supercharged Chim 400.

F**k me..!

If its putting out nearly 300 at the wheels on 400 - God knows what the 450 and 500 versions are going to be like.

Dom - you can use Poser for development if you want..?

Fantastic. Cant say any more than that.

I want another go

Claire,

Do you know if it's on stock compression and with stock pistons or was the engine rebuilt to allow more boost?

Compression at 10.25:1

Claire's right - absolutely amazing for a 4.0ltr

Drove it on Friday - awesome!

Full write up & pics in August's Sprint Mag.

That's really quite encouraging, that for a modest amount of boost it made those figures. Anybody know how much boost it uses?

280 at the wheels, .. ah, what dyno was it done on.. ah, a dynojet..

maybe not then..

Don't want to knock what sounds like an excellent conversion, but 300 at the fly sounds more realistic.

Do I sense that, as an (unbiased?) dyno operator, you'd like to tell us more about the technicalities of a Dyno-jet?

Well, it is generally regarded in the industry that they overread vs the european/ australian dynos by 10 to 15% at the wheels. Not a problem if you lower the loss to suit (one of the reasons yanks always quote such low losses). To give you an example, i saw a dynojet printout from a completely standard 225bhp megane sport thingy done very recently.. yes.. it made 224 at the wheels.

I don't want to hijack this thread into a big dyno debate, because i've heard this is a superb conversion, and its something i might consider for my 5 litre, just before someone goes.. '280bhp at the wheels on 6psi is not possible on 4 litre Rover V8', i thought i'd add my take on the power fig

All IMHO of coarse

Still very early days yet, Dom is doing 10K miles in it then putting it on the track before he unleases it onto the market.

All I know is it went like a Cerb, and I cant wait till he develops the 450 version (I dont mind being the development car (runs in the family))

He only had it set to 6psi so if he turns the boost up even more then wooohhhhhaaahhh..!

I was too busy watching the boost/road to see what speeds I was doing but I remember approaching a corner and seeing 3 figures on the speedo and thinking "how the hell did it get to that speed so quickly"

Claire (will be losing her licence if she gets a conversion)

...For the Tivless will there be an online article about this car? It sounds awesome.

Does the supercharger affect the engine temps greatly?
Some info on here...
www.tvrpower.co.uk/sc.supercharger.php

For temps - it mentions ceramically coating the manifolds to help reduce engine bay temps.

Mine uses a poly-V pulley mounted behind the original V pulley. This puts the poly-V pulley quite close to the position of the serpentine one, which is a nice coincidence.

Tvr Power only offer genuine Rear wheel BHP, every one states flywheel bhp Tvr power wont offer these figures simply because there are to many discrepancies in percentage loses,Tvr Power will be inviting all trade to the ultimate HP shootout very soon to see who has the most powerfull Tvr in europe (at the rear wheels) or wheel
