Not taken the ol’bus out for a decent trip in ages so put the rack on the back and took it up to Boltby for a weekends racing. Needs a new PAS pump and working out why the cruise has suddenly died, but otherwise fairly faultless weekend!! Still goes well and that’s what really counts…. Even got 23mpg out of it!!!

Had this delivered last week, an XC60 R-Design B4. One of the last R-Designs as they've now rebranded the model names. We didn't go mad with the options, so it's just the 197bhp diesel hybrid with climate pack, platinum grey paint and the service pack. It's really my wife's car and is already proving perfect for family duties. Big and comfy inside, big boot, nice ride and quiet. Certainly enough tech and toys too.

It's not particularly exciting but I'm very pleased nonetheless especially as we've waited over a year for it....our Volvo Main Dealer managed to order us the wrong car so we had to wait another 6 months whilst they had a second go at it.

owned this for a few months now.

V60 R-design D3 with the old 5 cylinder block shared with the D4/D5 i believe. Seems to be quite rare as its the 163ps one were newer versions are 136 or similar. Very low mileage with 1 owner from new and stacks of history.

Have actually really struggled to get along with it for a few reasons;
- No clutch foot rest. May seem small but one of those things i cannot look past.
- Weird dead-spot/turbo-lag meaning throttle response is sluggish. Makes overtakes unnecessarily difficult. Would welcome remap recommendations.
- Few little small quirks like when you open the drivers door, the central locking doesn't disengage so you have to 'unlock' the rest of the car. It also automatically answers calls to my mobile somehow?!
- Electronic parking brake makes hill starts weird. Maybe i'll get used to it.

However the seats are glorious and heated enough to cook eggs on. Nice cabin too & it is practical with the boot size and seats fold properly flat. 5 cylinder sounds lovely too (for a diesel that is).

Our family wagon. V60 T5 cross country. Owned from new. We were going to order a new one but if you want the amazing adaptive headlights ours has, you now have to pay £10k more, and wait for 28 months.

It’s a very comfortable and reasonably quick family wagon.

Interesting what you've written about spec levels. My V60CC is a few months older than yours, Volvo got in touch earlier in the week to see if I was interested in changing as their current lead times are Q1/Q2 next year. I'm not sure about some of the changes in spec (such as more google and limiters) but hadn't considered the spec levels being diminished compared to mine. The loss of capability from the previous generation XC60 to this car was disappointing enough.

I should hate this car, given what i have owned in the past, but oddly i find it superb and utterly fit for purpose. Begs the question what the point of spending more than a few grand on a family car is.
