I agree thanks to the guys in getting this oiff the ground, but really wouldn't it be better to have one thread for all the Academy builds, another for the Airfix builds, etc we are just going to end up with too many threads to keep up with. Only my 2p
My concern is that we will get very muddled build threads. This may not prove important as it's dependant on the not known number of participants.I think for this reason model dedicated sites do encourage a thread per build that way you can follow a build easily, comment on that thread and build, and reference a build easily, with a joint thread non of these things are easy.
For those reasons I think a separate thread for each build is better and if over population of the forum does become an issue then the mods have said they would look into the idea of sub forums so in some ways separate threads may benefit us in the medium\long term.

Thanks guys but I just had put an idea on th einitial post, it was DR_GN, DieselGriff and Eric MC that ran with it.
Anyway, got my confirmation that the kit is on it's way, Wish I could get a magnifying lamp like DR_Gn's
Beware getting cheap ones with a plastic lens - they are worse than nothing at all. The one we got at work was from RS Components and has a flouorescent element at each side of the lens so it doesn't cast much of a shadow. I used if for repairing a tiny circuit board and it was great. Never used one for modelling yet though.Anyway, got my confirmation that the kit is on it's way, Wish I could get a magnifying lamp like DR_Gn's

With all this talk of illuminated magnifiers and airbrush gear, I can see my expenditure on this project running out of control very quickly.
Yeah, but if you are going to build more models, an airbrush and magnifier will soon look like good investments.Amazingly the kit has already arrived, very impressed with Hannants.
It's probably 19 years since I last made a 1/72 scale kit........OMFG!! It's small.
All recent models have been 1/48 or bigger. I cannot believe how small it is.
Lovely detail on the academy kit and th eresin parts that I got look very nice, will post pics later. Not sure about the decals that I got though, they look very ropey.
Did I say how bloody small it is?

Last time I ordered something from Hannants, apparently my card detais were stolen and used on an online gambling site in America. Some of the stuff I ordered took about 6 weeks to arrive, the rest never arrived, but they never bothered to tell me it was not available. Never again.
