Finished this prototype of Victory at last - about a year's full time work - just waiting for the figurehead. Scale is 1:64th and is fully detailed inside as well as out. (We can now start renovating our rooms!)
Please take this as a compliment, but...

Speedline 1/24th vac form kit with ducted fan power. My Dad has just finished building. Trials in the bath imminent.
Kindly excuse my ignorance but, does it float when it's not moving, and how fast will it go?

Hope so and don't know are the answers to those questions. Although this guy got it to work which was the inspiration, so fingers crossed! http://youtu.be/pTravoRdzb0

Been mainly working on a competition piece for this weekend at Games Workshops big event and national painting comp.

Its supposed to be a command squad group, with commander, 2 Honour Guard (Lieutenants), standard bearer and a company Champion.

Scene is a ruined city scape with ruined building with stained glass.

I got finalist last year but hoping for some silverware this year.

Thank you!

It is my job, though - I guess there are worse things to do for a living...

It will be a kit you can buy in a couple of years, and make yourself!

thousands mate!! or hundreds at the very least! I have a slight "thing" for really detailed ships like this but having seen prices for them I think I will just have to stick with simply having a "thing" for them!!

Around £800 - good value if you enjoy building as it will take about two years as a part time/evening hobby project. If made well, they do sell for thousands.

[I won't clutter up the thread by quoting the photos again]
Don't you dare apologise for that, it's brilliant!

Any plans to paint it? It would look fantastic in an appropriate colour scheme with all the numbers/sponsors/drivers name etc.

It is indeed excellent, however I feel it is best left in the bare metal where it works well as a piece of art rather than painted where it would become a scale model and any inaccuracies or lack of detail would be exposed.

You have a God given gift my friend! I believe modelling is just like painting, you've got the skills or you haven't. You have them in bucket loads! SUPERB!

Could you coat it with a laquer to preserve the shine? Just thinking out loud really
