I have to be kept away from the lego store; I'd be broke and single very quickly otherwise.

Got the Shuttle for christmas and waiting for a couple of quiet evenings to get stuck in.

Is it worth spending £150 on the R2D2 kit?

Having spent a fortune on Lego over Xmas I'm not sure it's worth the earache off swmbo!!!

Having said that if someone who has built one posts some photos & says its worth it I might just risk the purchase.....

Can always blame it on eBay, tell her it was cheap!!!!

Got the technic Supercar for Christmas, wife and I bought ourselves the VW Camper the year before.

Part of our Christmas decorations is now the winter village sets they have (Pst Offce, Bakery, Toy Shop and house).

Our kids love Lego - youngest is getting The Joker's fun hose for hs birthday which will go well with his brother's Bat Cave.

Not sure what to get next?

Got the R2-D2 for my birthday (41st;)) and it really is an excellent model and build!

There are a couple of images on my Flickr site:

Get it! Then start saving for the rather awesome looking stuff that's coming out later this year smile

£150? Pffft, cheap rubbish.

What you want is the Mindstorms 9748, the Droid Developers Kit.

£899!!!! Although it is an old set ('99), so getting one complete and unopened will be rare.

here's a review of r2d2 its fantastic lego set and definitely worth the money.

thing is with lego it really never looses value as long as you keep the box and instructions - once discontinued their value increase smile

consider it an investment smile

I was on the Lego store the other day.

I saw the Lego heart container thingy (£3.99) so bought one for my OH for valentines, then noticed that it was £4 postage.

Man maths dictated that if i spent over £50 i got free postage!

So, on the way is the Kingdoms chess set (re-release i believe) WOOP!

Lego lunch box! ill be the envy of my colleagues! hehe

and the Lego heart. biggrin

(plus a free ninjago mini set)

Total spend = £52

WHICH- actually isnt that bad, the cheapest i have found the chess set anywhere is circa £60-£65, so @ £40 its a complete steal hehe

(to be honest, if i had the cash i would buy the Sopwith camel, VW camper van, the highway pickup and tower bridge, so frankly my bank account got off lightly)
