The LEPIN "LEGO" for non sensitive types
Discussion
I've given it a punt, so me (a Land Rover mad Dad) and my Land Rover mad lad can build it together. Let's hope the quality is OK, I've done the GT3, Caterham 7 and just about to finish the UCS Falcon so hopefully it will be as decent.
I know it's not the real deal, but whilst I've spent loads on genuine Lego for my lad over the years, I'm just not prepared to spend silly money on the big stuff!
I'll post pics when it starts to happen...

Haven,t bought any KO for a while. But, as its no longer around I have the urge to build this absolute monster.
I seriously do not have the room for it tho. Ignore the sizes they are wrong

Had to disassemble most of the rear suspension on the Cad Alfa Romeo F1 car as I'd got a bit the wrong way round. Not used to sometimes as many as four steps on each page when Lego usually has one step per page.
Some of the clutch and tightness is missing, for example one of the driveshafts is very loose and the wheels hardly stay on but it's looking good so far.

So accurate to true life then…Some of the clutch and tightness is missing, for example one of the driveshafts is very loose and the wheels hardly stay on but it's looking good so far.

No worries Ash !
The marstoy link might be without delivery, might be why there cheaper.I'm not to sure now.
edit, just checked, yes need to add on delivery.
UCS Falcon with shipping £150 ish, about the same as i paid of Aliexpress about 5 years ago so no big difference.
But yes Yourwobb is always on the reddit forums and answers any questions very quickly.
Yourwobb would not respond to your emails if any parts are missing. So beware. Now I have a sticker sheet missing. Would think thrice before I buy from them again. The marstoy link might be without delivery, might be why there cheaper.I'm not to sure now.

I had a faulty controller, but then it was sorted as it was from amazon.
My Defender arrived this week. All parts are in numbered bags but I’m not convinced all the bags are referred to correctly in the instructions, but it looks like all the obvious bits are there anyway.
Looking forward to building this one up with my lad…and once I’m bored of it sat there next to my hooky Caterham in my home office I might see if it’s feasible to modify it to make it into a 110 rather than a 90.
I’ve got the real Caterham sat in the garage and the real Defender in bits in the driveway…I suspect the “Lego” one might be finished first though!
I’ll report back on the build but initial impressions are it looks really good for the money. My man maths reasoning here is that the money I’ve saved on the hooky ones (GT3 RS, UCS Falcon, Caterham 7, Defender 90) can go towards real sets for my lad (mini Defender, X-Wing and TIE fighter are about to get wrapped for Christmas!)

I have a couple of the Cobi models - USS Enterprise and Titanic - not quite 5 feet long but are cheaper and are superb. And both survived a house move!https://cobi.pl/en/small-army-ww2/ships-and-boats/...

A “Not Lego” shop called Freakware has opened on the outskirts of Cologne (Köln), Germany so I went to have a look.
The Cadfi Alfa F1 was less than €100 so have to try, the presentation and packaging feels really “premium”
Then for just €25 there was this “sports car” (yes I know what it’s meant to be) which is from a manufacturer called Sy Block and looks to be about the same size as the recent Lego Bugattis and McLaren. This one may be converted to radio-control too although the required modules are not included. Look to be interesting build techniques on the front wheel arches.

The 917 is a pretty good model, based on the limitations of Lego style blocks! The Cadfi Alfa F1 was less than €100 so have to try, the presentation and packaging feels really “premium”
