I'll buy the Volvo, especially if there's another excellent group buy but mainly as I'm a sad adult who takes comfort in buying the stuff he could never have as a kid hehe

But I too would look forward to some Lego kits that build & function like a real life vehicle. The crane & unimog are fantastic models but I can't help feeling like you're building a huge clockwork gearbox disguised as a vehicle.

Used Brickstore with the parts list on sheepos page, Brickstore uses guide prices and the total is $740, no idea how accurate that is!
It seems fairly accurate as Sheepo himself said that it'd be around that price. Still seems worth it but getting hold of all the parts is another story entirely. The same goes for those F1 cars, it's rare that one supplier with have all you need and even then they won't have a huge quantity of individual bricks. Of course if you then factor in all those with similar ideas to build them, the availability of certain bricks goes down and up go the prices frown

The Volvo looks a little quickly geared on staering and movement. The bucket looks about right.

I'm sure it can be fixed - Starts saving.

I know I'm not the only one, but I am hugely disappointed by these two offerings...my 8265 will do just fine until the summer.

As happy as I am for you, I'm gutted I missed that. I've been lusting after both of those for a while but i'm priced out of the market at present.

Just finished 42000. Lovely kit and a good looking model if a little limited in functions.

This is the one I recently finished building as well and have to agree. A really good kit which I enjoyed building.

I think a new definition of nerd may need to be applied, the grown man who talks of his Lego kits by serial number only wink

Unimog has just arrived.Thank god for Ebay. Looking forward to this build. And what seems to be the norm for this thread, I'm 43.

I've noticed that Lego instructions now tell you to build on a table. I used to build on the floor; still do in fact, but I think the instruction is aimed at people our age because my knees locked solid building the Unimog last year laugh

Got the F1 car for Christmas, closely followed by the Mk 2 crane. I feel it's going to be an addiction

It's also more difficult for us to see the small parts when they are loose on the carpet...

I look forward to the instructions containing a reminder to put on your bifocals soon smile

The reason I've never done my building on a table is that the small round pieces (hundreds of them with Technic) roll off the edge and you can never find them. Or you do yourself a mischief leaning down to pick them up wink

I build in a tray with raised sides. Makes loss of small parts that much harder.
