Advise please on the best way to stick the windscreen and light pods on a 1/43 rd scale model Griffith 500 , Frightened to fubar this by getting fogging etc . Cheers in advance Tom.
Johnson's Klearor
Formula 560 Canopy glue.
Both dry fairly clear. Johnsons Klear will be invisible once dry, but the screen will need to be a perfect fit to start with, and it won't stand much rough treatment once set. You could also consider dipping the transparency in Klear to make it more...er..transparent.
The '560 stuff is quite a bit stronger, also pretty transparent when dry, but any excess will be visible as a 'lump' unless you wipe it off with a damp cloth or something before it sets.
Good Luck.
SMTS Griff? I finished mine by sticking the windscreen with PVA based `tacky` glue from my local art-shop. It`s just a quicker drying, stickier formula of PVA (great for card modelling, can be thinned with water) which dries clear, but crucially parts can be carefully peeled off the model, then the glue peeled off the transparent parts if one`s not happy and needs another go...For the light covers I used thinned clear humbrol enamel varnish, run around the perimetre of the part when already in position. Capillary action is your friend! The key is to trim the clear parts VERY carefully so they naturally sit in their respective recesses; asking a glue to pull them in to shape is asking for trouble. A bit of low-tack tape to hold while setting helps, but bridge tape away from glued edges; capillary action can be your enemy too!
Good luck, and remember "just say no to cyano..."
