Been meaning to do this for a while. start a collection of model cars I have worked on the last few years
I have been looking for a while but a few I am struggling to find a few.

Do you mean 1/43?
There aren't that many car models in 1/48 (that's usually an aircraft scale).
www.grandprixmodels.com might be worth a look. Although they mainly sell metal and resin 1/43 scale kits, many of the kits can be purchased ready made - although they won't be cheap as they are individually hand made.

GPM is the place to look. Virtually every F1 and GP car there ever was has existed in model form one way or another. The problem is that mainstream manufacturers shy away from less successful or obscure cars and the only option in those cases is to buy a kit.
As I said, some kits can be bought pre-assembled and painted but the prices can be very high. A kit that costs £40 to buy in compnonent form could cost around £250 ready assembled.
