Browsing the Lego site this lunchtime (actually looking for Duplo for my 4 year daughter!)I spotted this.

http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Sopwith-Camel-10226

I was a huge Lego fan as a kid, and I had some gift money burning a hole in my pocket after a recent landmark (life commencing) birthday. so I figured what the hell - indulge my inner child! I can always claim that I misread Age 14+ as being Age 40+ wink

Now, I just need to explain to my daughter why she can't have Daddy's Special Lego to play with along with her own.....

Just need to get the UniMog now...
I saw that and was quite tempted - that's one big-ass kit!

If I didn't have a wife, child and mortgage, and if I wasn't concerned about getting odd looks from anyone who visited the house and saw it, this would have been epic!

£350 though! wobble

This is my first foray into Lego since I was a child, although if I'm honest I suspect that I get as much enjoyment even out of Duplo as my daughter does....

Have any of you tried the licensed Ferrari kits? I think there was was a Lego Technic Enzo and 599 GTB. I gather they have been discontinued and only seem to be available now on ebay at ridiculous prices....

I may know 'someone' who got the Lego Millennium Falcon for his 40th... cough...
biggrin

Good effort on the part of whoever bought that for you, err him! I was as big a fan of Star Wars as a child as I was of Lego. It's good job none of that was available then or my poor parents would have been penniless!

Tempted as I was by the Falcon, I decided that I would get enough stick as it was for buying Lego at my age, without bringing the added opprobrium of sci-fi geekery into it! (Oh, and it was too big to fit anywhere in my "man room"/office.....)

Have fun with it! smile

Anyway, to keep this Boats, Planes & Trains related, I hope the Camel sells well so they might perhaps then consider doing other aircraft kits. I'm sure a Lego Spitfire would sell in droves, although I suspect it might be difficult to do the ellipses of the wings....

I'm certain of that - she has loved any sort of building blocks since she was a baby.

Which is fine by me as it gives me an excuse to buy all manner of more interesting and more complicated for her to do as she gets older - which she will naturally need Dad's help with..... wink

It's possibly true that I had a secondary motive in looking wink but I really did visit at least in part to price up some more fire station Duplo for Charlotte!

In the event, the only order placed was for me rather than her..... For which I blame you! wink
