I came a car on auto trader recently, owners claims it has been re-mapped to 650 bhp, no other modifications just a ecu re-mapped no other upgrades to intake or exhaust.

I think the standard bhp is 552, and torque is 479 lbs/ft.

Is 650 realistic without any further mechanical modifications? That's 90+ bhp extra.

And how safe would that be in regards to the drivetrain, would the car's realibility suffer significantly? Could potentialy be a lot of extra stress for the major components.

Not interested in buying right now, but the continetal GT is a car I'd like to own at some stage so I'm curious to know current or ex owners thoughts.

Has anyone had their continental gt mapped?

Thanks for the link.

I may be wrong about the exhaust, but there was no mention of it at all, and a thread I found on an american forum where a Chicago based company had re-mapped a CGT with very similar gains also did not modify exhaust so I am assuming it has not been done.
