Brake wear warning light

Hi all.I have just got a 03 cooper s, The orange brake warning light came on so i have changed the front pads ,the rear had just been changed, but the warning light is still on is there a way to take this off. Also there is a wind whistling noise when car gets to 70 mph sounds like its coming from air vents. I have been told this is a common fault

No.I did not change wire i will disconnect battery tomorrow. Thanks for your reply.
