That so-called impressionist is pretty lame. Even when telling who he is going to do an impression of, I still didn't get it.

Seriously? Hunt was way more of a basket case than Ronnie...and a bigger arse half the time.

You need to do a touch of reading on Hunt. His Depression and slide into self destruction after he left racing. His complete lack of empathy during racing, for his car, other cars, his safety and others. His completely obsessional personality and at the same time self-destructive personality. Hunt suffered from massive Depression before it was "fashionable" to be afflicted by the disease. Probably because his charming side was that of a 7yr old boy and his desrtuctive tendancies were towards himself not outward, ubt the ladies in his life managed to remain less aggrieved than one would otherwise have thought. Considering that he "sold" his wife to Richard Burton for a million bucks with the legendary line "relax you have taken the most alarming expense account in the country off me"...this is quite some feat.

Hunt for most of his career was a self indulgent, whinging, self obsessed, selfish, inconsistent child in a mans body. He just also happened to be possesed of a little genius that meant he was the only man who could beat the greatest driver of his day. He quit the sport in a moment of nothing more than pique because he couldnt be bothered with it all and just walked away.

There are many similarities between the two, except that Ronnie is a saint by comparison.

The number of top sports people who aren't arrogant, self-obsessed and come across a bit as arses could probably be counted on the fingers of one foot... I know a fair few and this drive and self-belief is a necessary part of getting to, and staying at, the top of the tree. They say "nice guys finish last" and they are not wrong.

FWIW I've meant Ronnie a couple of times and when he's not in snooker mode you honestly couldn't wish to meet a nicer, more genuine guy. Maybe I caught him on a couple of good days though wink

Moreover, I think it's great to see someone like Ronnie shaking things up and not giving a crap about the media etc. - a bit like Raikkonen (sp?). Snooker will be all the poorer when he retires - who's going to take over? With respect to Hawkins and Walden, they are not playing the same "sport".

? He has barely been in the spotlight or papers since he "retired" last time. He said his piece about Hearn then buggered off to the quiet life till it was time to come back for a tilt at the world championship, then the media circus starts up again.

The boy has genius in his hands. He doesnt need to give a crap about the rest of it. About the game, about opponents or about you the fan. Why should he care?

Ive only got it on in the background but walden and hawkins are playing like a right pair of farts. Regardless of whether ronnie or judd make it through, either one of them will wipe the floor with walden or hawkins based on how they are playing at the moment!

Yes indeed. The people with tickets for the last session of the final are screwed. Toilet paper is worth more than those.

Someone farted first time round which everyone found funny but then I think the same person made another noise and was kicked out.

Was interesting to hear him I the interview the other night saying he is only there to raise money for the kids school fees!
When he says he has been out of it for a year, does he genuinely mean not played at all? Or just not in tournaments?
I'm new to snooker so these may be stupid questions.
