New Barmy Army song unveiled for the WACA:

Barmy Army said:
Slip inside Ricky Ponting's mind
He's trying to find
Some new players to play

He wants to play his older team
But that's just a dream
They're too old to play

He said he'd start a revolution in his head
But he's been through all the players A to Z
Now there's just a summertime of doom
If he loses the Ashes race
He is going to lose his place
Losing three would simply tear his heart out

So Ricky can wait
Shane Warne is too late
And there's no Glenn McGrath
Gilchrist's had his day
And don't look back to Langer
He cannot play

Where did all those old players go
Now everyone knows
You've nearly had your day

You'll have to leave the team in the hands
Of Michael Clarke and
He'll throw it all away

He said he'd start a revolution in his head
But he's been through all the players A to Z
Now there's just a summertime of doom
If he loses the Ashes race
He is going to lose his place
Losing three would simply tear his heart out

So Ricky can wait
Shane Warne is too late
And there's no Glenn McGrath
Gilchrist's had his day
And don't look back to Langer
He cannot play

So Ricky can wait
Shane Warne is too late
And there's no Glenn McGrath
Gilchrist's had his day
And don't look back to Langer
He cannot play

At least not today
rofl

That is a work of art.

So Australia turn to two spinners, Probably not appreciating that Bell and KP are quite happy to put the soft cap on and give it a thump.

Who will England go for, Personally I have the freak show that is Tremlett, but Bresnan looks a lower risk strategy. Strauss is a conservative Captain so I guess Bresnan gets the nod.

If England win this one then I guess it is all over for the current Crims selectors....

According to this http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/other_inte...

the groundsman has produced a green tinged wicket.....now who was it that thought we might see a bowler friendly pitch ? wink

Well I think the groundsman at the WACA is going to be asked to produce a bowler friendly pitch....try and even things up. There is no point in them producing a flat track that will take spin on days four and five...their seamers have shown they are only competitive when there is something in the pitch for them and they don't have a spinner to exploit the spin late in the match. They produce a batsman's track and the bowlers perform as they did chances are England will have retained The Ashes with two tests to play. As an example Siddle in the last two innings has bowled 54-7-211-0.

Bowler friendly perhaps but that sounds to me like a good 'cricket' wicket. I would back us to beat the aussies on that type of wicket at the moment so bring it on cool

It works both ways too. I dare say Jimmy will be relishing bowling on a bowler-friendly wicket.

maybe the crims know they are already beaten and are asking for a mercy killing to put an end to their current nightmare, then they can blood their youngsters for the final two tests and cast off all the current dead wood. scratchchin

Oh I agree....cricket is a much better game when the competition between bat and ball is more even. End of the day we have two of the top three bowlers in the rankings at the moment http://www.reliancemobileiccrankings.com/soweshoul... do better.

Interesting there is only one Aussie in the bowling rankings and none at all in the batting.........

Massive match for Finn...we really need him to step up to the plate and bowl with great control.

Yep. The key on this wicket (as all) is to remember NOT to bang it in TOO short on this track otherwise it will go quickly to the boundary. Just short of a length without giving them room is the way to go for me. Fast bowlers can get very excited on quick wickets and then get thumped all over. MJ where are you spin

Crims are a bit quiet eh. Funny, that.

So, while we're on the subject of jokes, heard a great one yesterday, an oldie but a goodie.

Johnno is at Aussie immigration gaining entry for an Ashes tour. The Aussie bloke asks him "Any criminal convictions?"

Johnno replies "Do we still need one to get in?"

A lady walked into a Police Station and the desk Sergeant said "Can I help you?"

"Yes" she said, "I'd like to report a case of sexual assault".

"Where did it happen?" the Sergeant asked.

"In the park just down the road" she replied.

"Can you describe what happened?"

"Yes, I was walking along the footpath in the park near the trees when a man jumped out of the bushes and dragged me in there, removed my underwear then he dropped his pants to his knees and had his way with me".

"Could you give me a description of him?"

"Yes, he was wearing white shoes, long white trousers, a white shirt and he had these two big long pads from his feet up to and over his knees, one on each leg".

"Sounds to me like he was a cricketer, most probably a batsman", said the Sergeant.
"Yes", said the lady, "He was an Aussie Cricketer".

"That's very observant", said the Sergeant, "You worked that out from his accent?"

"No", she replied. "I worked it out because he wasn't in for very long".

Im worried.

Jimmy has flown round the world.
Swanny will probably emulate Warne by not having a great match here.
2 relative new boys in Finn and Temlett.

It will be hot the whole match, we only have 4 bowlers.

The WACA is a cut n pull pitch. Strauss is the best we have with a horizontal bat. So far he has shown a remarkable ability to get out quickly.
Cook has been in too good form for it to continue.
FIGJAM thinks hes God again which means getting on 90odd when we need a big century.
Bell is starting to look like the most naturally talented batsman in the world again. Which means he is due to crumble again.

That leaves Trott and Prior to win us the match or Collingwood to save it.
