Was listening to 5Live last night and they had a interview with Fury during half time and he said he was currently 24 Stone, eating what he wants and living a party lifestyle. Also mentions he has no motivation, and sees this as work and in reality another payday.

I know you have to take Fury with a pinch of salt, but 24 stone is alot of weight to lose to get back down to the fighting weight he beat Wlad at.
Heard this too. Could well be a ruse, but if not, I hope for his sake he's in that position because he's having the time of his life...it's documented he has battled with depression previously; just hope this isn't indicative of ongoing struggles.
a load of hot air i think.....

on his twitter this morning he posted how training camp starts tomorrow....whereas elsewhere he's been bragging about only doing 3 weeks a bit nearer to the fight.

the guy is absolutely fking mental!

But you're right, Alvarez is very experienced and he hits like a train, he's a great fighter.
Someone who runs scared of Gennady Golovkin shouldn't be rated great IMHO.

It's all part of Fury's plan. He's an oddball and his pre fight game is to just confuse the hell of of his opponent.

Quite masterful imho; Vlad will be trying to figure the same things out and the more time he spends thinking the more Fury will be in his head. Great tactic

Fair point, I expect that'll happen sooner or later though, don't you? It's just a matter of money and timing.

Alvarez is still really young...not sure he's ready for GGG yet; if I were managing Alvarez I'd keep him away for a couple more years.

Apparently Kell Brook turned down a fight against Cotto...

Just watched Errol Spence Jr destroy Chris Algieri in 5 rounds. Algieri went the distance with Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao last year but Spence took him to school. Spence is 20-0, watch out for him, Kell Brook could be next.

Errol Spence is looking quite decent, Steve Bunce gave him a good write up in the Independent on the back of his main article about AJ's win last weekend. I think someone has already linked this earlier in the thread.

Warrington vs. Selby talks growing some momentum now. That could be a big fight this summer, would still fancy Selby for the win but another indication that British Boxing is in fine shape at the moment through the weight classes.

Anyone who didn't see the Hall and Warrington fights on sky last night they're well worth checking out, 24 rounds of non stop action.

Gary Russell Jr looked fast and dangerous last night. I don't fancy Lee Selby's chances against that kind of power.

They were good fights.
The lad from Japan had a really strange style - a bit like Inspector Gadget with those long arms.

Don't fancy Warringtons chances against Selby. Doesn't punch hard enough and likes to get drawn into a swinging match.
He was doing all the right things by keeping him away from the middle of the ring then decided to brawl.

He certainly looked impressive though clearly in with limited opposition. Featherweight is shaping up to be the most competitive division of the lot - Lomachenko, Santa Cruz, Russell jr, Walters, Selby, and with Frampton expected to step up as well...some brilliant potential match-ups amongst that collective!

I like Warrington but he's not very heavy handed so it does mean he's heavily reliant on his engine, I'd be interested in seeing him versus selby though!

For the last 18 months, Kell Brook has been looking for a top-tier opponent...well, it looks like one may have just found him! Almost certain Spence will be installed as #1 for the IBF title and has said he'd be willing to travel to the UK to fight Brook. Potential to be one hell of a fight!

Apparently it's Malik Scott for AJ next, some forums saying the ink was dry on that contract even before last nights fight.

Fury and Haye are both mobile fighters something Joshua hasn't come up against yet. He's far from the finished article yet. He does grate on me. Little simply because he seems so manufactured in front of a camera.
I think Malik Scott would be a very good choice as a first defence. However, Scott is not presently ranked in the top 15 by the IBF, meaning he's not even eligible as a voluntary. So unless that changes, the only way that contest would happen would be as a non-title fight and really can't see why they'd do that.
So looks like the front runners are Bermane Stiverne, Eric Molina and Dominic Breazeale:

Personally, I think Stiverne would be the best option - credible, durable but beatable - though it wouldn't surprise me to see Chisora come into the reckoning if he were to beat Pulev (albeit I'm not counting on that outcome!), given he already has a top #15 ranking with the IBF.

Crazy career as a trainer, D'Amato...coaches a Hall-of-Famer (or two if you want to include Torres at Light-Heavy), then all but disappears for best part of a quarter of a century, then comes back with another Hall-of-Famer!

Felix Sturm looks like he's failed a drugs test after the Chudinov fight:

http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/felix-sturm-fails-...

Disappointing to read. Unless Sturm successfully appeals, it'll be interesting to see whether the WBA return the belt to Chudinov (who quite a few feel was robbed of the title in the first place) or declare it vacant. If the latter, you'd hope Chudinov would be given first crack at it, and there's an outside chance that George Groves might be in the opposing corner given his recent win of the 'International' title.

On a related subject, Lucas Browne apparently passed a lie detector test around his failed drugs test. Be interesting to see if that carries any weight...
