Looks like Eng making a decent fist of the 2nd dig.
oh no they're notCan't believe we've lost this series. Couple of bad days in the office and the series is gone. Aus deserved to lose, no doubt. But they'll kick themselves losing to such an average team.
As they say - look in the fking scorebook.

This series is now going to end with more questions than answers for both Countries. Its been bonkers
I think this is a good thing for both sides. No room for hubris or resting on laurels. I worry however that the current pressures of T20 cricket and a badly organised International Test Competition structure are making it harder than ever to build a solid Test side.johnfm said:

Arrogance. Aus presumed the Shock n Awe tactics from the last series would bulldoze thru England. Diddle has always been impressive against Eng for Aus though. He gives control. Mitch x 2 are much more dangerous when they had Rhino and Siddle alongside them to provide control and threat. Siddle should have been picked from the start.
You do talk some bks.Hazlewood shock and awe?
In hindsight - Siddle might have performed better than Hazlewood. He might not have. We will never know.
You know it, I know it, Suthol knows it, no matter how much you might protest.

i think your right test cricket is suffering even one day cricket is suffering for T20 and as good as it is I like to watch 5 days of sport where the outcome is in doubt until the fifth day and preferably the last overDJRC said:

That's what Hazlewood has to do with your earlier bks.
in any event, this series was lost by our batsmen not letting enough balls go. Our bowlers didn't struggle to get 20 wickets.
Consider it an early Xmas present.

The difference between the two sides is that Australia is by and large a top quality side that let their standards slip for a variety of reasons. England aren't a better side, they just happened to be performing better at a lower level which was better than Australia on the day.
Australia's performance dropped, rather than England improving theirs and this test series supports this as England can't sustain a superior performance, hence are a lower performing side.
