Any essex snooker fans, English open at the Brentwood centre 2nd to 8th oct.

The first day draws up. 1pm tv table Ronnie Vs Andrew Pagett likely to be followed by Selby VS Xing Zhao.

Just got myself an afternoon ticket, just over £10 . Tho £20 for the whole day , and the tip 16 are all playing monday..

Ill probably pick up a ticket for tuesday or Wednesday, after the 1st round players are through.

Also got all day final tickets last year some time. Front row , dead centre!

I'm nowhere near Essex, but those seem to be good prices.

Agreed it either forcing people to pay for loads of channels which not many people have the spare cash or find way round legit ways of forget watching.

There are always ways around it, but I prefer to watch without all the hassle that entails.

Will just watch whatever is shown on FTA and sod the rest.

The majority of snooker has always been a Eurosport broadcast product for many, many years, originally from the contracts Barry Hearn signed, and now including the ones agreed when he handed over to his son where it's licensed via DAZN / WST TV who maintain the Eurosport TV agreement.

As with some other sports BBC / ITV have agreements from Hearn Jnr & also Eurosport to allow them access to certain domestic tournaments with limited / partial table coverage of 1 match in a session whilst Eurosport have all tables available and the BBC retain full / extended rights for things like The Crucible as part of Hearn's commitment to those events having wider F2A coverage.

From memory it was one of the main long term deals he agreed before handing over to his son as i remember him saying he regularly refused to agree to sell the rights to Sky, back in the day when they used to buy up everything going, as he didn't want it locked away fully behind an uncontrollable paywall.

Watching the British open last night, only Selby could drag a best of 7 match out that long, I gave up with it but by all accounts it was nearly 1am when finished, last frame over 1 hour, he is dire to watch at times.

I watched a bit of that as well, and I was telling my missus how much Selby winds me up! He does my head in.

Great final few frames from Selby and Williams tonight.

And the final frame with williams requiring a snooker and developing the 3 reds. Then getting the free ball to win the frame and tournament!!

Off to Brentwood tomorrow, Ronnie meant to be playing at 1pm ( but see he was is china yesterday evening ) soo can't see him turn up.

Very nearly a right upset tonight!

Luca Brecel v Stan Moody - Moody just made a few bad decisions at the end of the deciding frame. Give him a couple more years and he'll definitely be one to keep an eye on.

Yep, was gutted for Moody.

Made a fair few mistakes towards the end but brecel just couldn't make much of them, until the end.
