I wonder if the Manchester Police have been consulted on this? Doesn't seem like a good idea, 5,000 MMA fans rolling out of Manchester clubs and into the MEN arena. The main card doesn't start until 3am meaning the main event probably starting about 5am!?! It's a great card as well seems a shame to show it in front of snoring piss heads and/or over excited speed freaks.

Was planning on going but the wife is working the Sunday... Not sure I fancy staying up all night to drive straight back to London for 0900.

Plus the silly start time isn't the best idea. UFC events are testosterone fuelled affairs at the best of times, let alone after most of the crowd have been on the piss/sniff all day/night...

Scenes at the presser!

Diaz and his crew walked out, started mouthing off at Conor...

Someone threw some st (Diaz few I think) so Conor was up and picking bottles up and launching them at the Diaz massive.

Dana 'Conor, don't pick them at up, don't throw that!'

Quality!

It was hilarious.....!
I would expect repercussions for Conor for not being there on time and seemingly not giving a flying %#€$ regardless of the bottle throwing competition.
Conor wasn't there long but just long enough to really get under Nate's skin and create bedlam ha ha

I can't be the only one who finds this kind of foul mouthed nonsense distasteful, can I?

I'm an old school traditional martial arts guy, shame on Conor, Dana and a hex on all their houses for being so crass, uncouth and ill disciplined (although to be fair to Dana he did look a bit embarrassed and exasperated) - this is not what Martial Arts are about.

Of course it's distasteful.

It's also mildly amusing. And entertaining. And has probably done exactly as it was intended to do.

Watch those PPV figures go through the roof.

It's like probing a sore tooth.
Also reveling in the knowledge that I am not as scummy as the dimwits I am watching.
bread and circuses indeed. biggrin
also respects to sorts like Diaz who tell the truth on stuff like PEDs.

The UFC started out very WWFlike. It took some considerable time before it straightened-up, stopped drinking and took life seriously.

I do find all this pantomime stuff a bit tedious.

Prefer it when there is some proper needle between the two fighters (hard to tell these days with all the hype).

Still looking forward to the next event!

rofl The UFC guys have nothing on some wrestlers around.

The Diaz / Mcgregor antics is probably scripted to an extent.

So looking forward to this fight. But trying to find somewhere local to watch it is proving to be a real PITA. All I have found so far is the Walkabout in Temple. Seeing as I live in Herts it's going to mean a hotel, etc. fks sake. Does anyone know anywhere near Jctn 25 of M25 area that is showing it?

Really looking forward to this.

I hope Diaz wins purely to mix the UFC up a bit, i do think tho McGregor will be alot better prepared but then again Diaz will aswell.

McGregors trash talk was funny to begin with but it's just getting a bit stupid now.

Presser was quality tho, tins of monster been thrown, water bottles etc, Mcgregor was on the back foot massively as he didn't know how to deal with what was going on as he is so used to "running the show" and that's how he got so agitated.

Either way its a pretty stacked card and looking forward to it, going for an Indian with my wife and my mate and his partner, then a few beers, hoping to stay up but the reality is i will fall asleep but will watch it in the morning.

This is where MMA meets WWE... pathetic showmanship hype nonsense.

The difference is that WWE guys are intelligent, articulate and entertaining. Those guys are not.

They should stick to fighting instead of trying to sell a fight like this.
