I quite like the 24g Power gold for DTL and trap. Problem is cartridges and recoil are a very subjective and personal thing.
For example I have a box of Rose Gold to try as 2 friends swear by them, yet one of them them liked Fiocchi F3’s which in 7.5 plastic wad, kick the daylights out of me.

I want to do what you do, and have a box of 9s and maybe 6.5 in the bag to try

Try Kent velocity. Used them for years, decent price too
A very good cartridge. I rated them highly (Kent)Shame nobody stocks those near to me. I bought 1000 Cheddite Universal yesterday @ £270. They were ok, no complaints at all. What I was really impressed with, a ‘clean’ cartridge. Very easy to clean the gun afterwards.
Minimal deposits on the forcing cones.
I’m afraid my pockets are not deep enough for Black Gold anymore!
I remember when I started shooting in 2007, a thousand Fiocchi were £130.
Not a bad shoot yesterday, hit a few - missed many but not bad considering I’d not shot since March of last year. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, jeez I’ve missed shooting.
I did a round of sporting in the end, Crabtree was really quite, unusually so.
Talking to one of the props at Malmo’s and he was saying the whole ‘Cumbrian issue’ has really affected his buisness over the last 12 months. He said basically current shooters unable to buy etc, and no new shooters coming through.
Yet, Lancs are turning round licenses in a matter of weeks.
Talking to folk at Malmo’s and Crabtree, the understood license turnaround for Cumbria is now 18 months! So I count myself lucky mine was only 14.

I have used Power Blues in the past, I liked them and one of my local grounds sell them and ill happily buy them again.Never really got on with them back in that day.

Going to try Rose golds next I think.
And in more important news, here is the first of our proposed season of Ph invite calf shoots around the bigger grounds…
February shoot will be at Kibworth….
Anyone interested in joined some PH folk for a casual shoot is more than welcome.
