Strauss would have England batting to the close. Points out he declared in 09 setting a target of 522 and eventually bowled the Crims out for 406.

It's a good point. I still anticipate a lead of ~500 by 5.30 so would be tempted to put them in.

I think we need to put an APB out for John. He could be at the foot of Beachy Head for all we know. I'm concerned.

Check in to the thread John, let us know you're ok x

Thing is, we won't be tiring their bowlers out tomorrow. Clarke doesn't give a st about taking wickets, he's saving his seamers, he's ignoring the new ball. We'll see Smith & Agar twirling away tomorrow.

I would have declared and had ten overs at them before the close. 2-0 is 2-0.

As it stands I'd declare at about 10.45 tomorrow morning and crack on with it.

Speaking of the Crim reaction... LOL

SMH said:
Bell, coming off back-to-back centuries, edged Ryan Harris to gully where Steve Smith took a low catch. Bell stood his ground, and umpire Marais Erasmus asked his colleague in the television booth upstairs to check. The replay, which always adds an element of doubt for low catches, still showed Smith's fingers under the ball, but third umpire Tony Hill gave the batsman not out.
There was a weariness about the Australian on-field reaction that reflected their dire position in the match, but not from the official Cricket Australia twitter account, which hastily deleted the following: "That decision sucked ass #bullst." An apology followed as CA investigated the offending, "inappropriate" tweet, which it said did not emanate from the official Twittter presence at Lord's.
Oh dear oh dear.

What are they saying for those of us that have no idea where to watch such a thing?
Précis: Crims are embarrassingly ste, England are destroying them, etc.

What else could they say?!

Deej - yep. He stated that the Aussies have no century makers at any level bar Pup, and Root already has more test centuries than Watson in 35 fewer tests. He is lamenting their lack of anyone with talent basically.

It's great viewing. Anyone with Sky should tune in and lap it up. I wonder if John has Sky?
